I was just offered a Job in Findlay and I was wondering if anyone here lives around the area. I want to know if there is good fishing or hunting in the area and if it is worth moving up to Findlay. I really wanted to move down south around Vinton county where I have family, but this may be a good job opportunity. I already have a job so I don't have to move or take the job for that matter, but I am just wondering about the wildlife in the area.

I live about 20-30 minutes South of Findlay. Pretty good hunting in the rural areas surrounding Findlay, But I wouldn't say it is the best around by any means. Overall is a pretty decent area for hunting/fishing most any species.

My brother lives in Findlay and he found a couple woods to hunt. Gets several deer every year. Also there is Findlay Resevoir which holds lots of eyes, big cats, perch and crappie but its a hard lake to fish by shore. Also there is a couple wildlife areas I think they are called Killdeer where they have a pheasant release and allow hunting on them. Also he's close enough to run to Indian Lake or St Marys for fishing.

I live in Findlay and hunting is great, but find your own woods. 2 years ago my son and I took 7 deer and this past year we took 4, I stop after my buck comes home and he was first for me. We have many trophy deer in the county, most people would drive through here and say nothing around, how wrong they can be. We take the deer mainly with bow. Some rabbits and coyotes around if you favor them. Ducks and geese in the fall oh yea. Although I would not make a job move for the hunting but once you get settled you will find the deer if you search them out.Our biggest buck is my sons 17 pt that scored 163.08 taken by bow.
