I dont know what my deal is but I apparently am an idiot when it comes to finding sheds! I can never find any, well until this year that is! I hear on here about people finding bedding areas and walking up on fresh beds with a matching set lieing basicly in the bed! ***???? Does this happen to everyone but me???? How about walknig up to yor bait site and having antlers just lieing all around it, again, not me!!!!!!! I have went out shed huntnig two times this year and have found a total of 3 sheds! None of which were any where near where the deer were bedding. One was probably 200 yards from where they bed lieing at the base of a tree. The other I found today was lieing in the middle of a path in the woods. Then the last one I found today was lieing on a ridge. Now the last could have been where the deer was bedding. I have seen them bed there before but not consistently! It was from last year and was a pretty hefty shed. Probably half of a mid 130s buck, maybe larger, it was a bit chewed up! Probably has 4.5 to 5 inches of mass between the g2 and g31
So I pose this question. How many sheds do you just walk right past before you actually find one?? Does anyone have a game plan or do people just walk aimlessly through the woods in a grid pattern hoping to come across one??
I hit up 2 very good bedding areas today pretty intensly but to no avail. There were beds and chit all over the place, but there were no sheds!!!!!! I have come to the conclusion that the deer where I am at dotn shed in their beds, they do it frollicking through the woods.
Where do you guys focus your looking??? Fields?? Ridges??

Remember a lot of bucks are still carrying their racks. In my area here in MD all the big bucks still have their full head gear. I watched this nice 8pt today feeding in my backyard and I was thinking "would you be so kind to drop that rack on my lawn?":(

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday shed hunting on some woods behind a golf course. After checking about 40 different trails, over 30 beds and numerous scrapes and rubs to find nothing more than golf balls, I decided I've had enough and headed back to the main trail to get my bike.
As I approached my bike I caught a glimpse of a deer on the bottom of the hill. I looked carefully before they sppoked and spotted about 10 deer, mostly fawns, a couple mature does and 2 bucks, a small fork and a 8 point. Both bucks had antlers. I wondered why I got no sheds.:(

I focus mainly on food and hay fields. Today I found two, one in a hay field and a monster five on the edge of pines and an old clearcut. Ill post pics of the tank later. I got dial up :cheeky-smiley-022:.

Ya I hear that! My buddy out the road is still getting pictures of all the decent bucks in our area with their head gear still attatched! All it takes is one day and they could all fall off! ha
