Its good to see all the interest in shed hunting this season....it seems more than usual, and great stories to go with the photos. There's been a lot of questions from hunters that have walked and walked and not found anything.....and great advice given to them by those of us who have a little more experience. I went out yesterday and found several, and thought I would try in a different location in between a corn feild and bean field, hoping to find some sheds from a monster we were after this past season.....no luck, but I did find a 6 point rack.....he should have been an 8, but had no G3 and the browtine was broken off....I did take a couple pics

When asked about the areas that are more ideal for shed hunting, this is more along the lines of my ideal spot.....in the background you can see the cut bean field and I'm only about 40 yards in....I have my best luck in these areas

With my success..i think ive recruited about 20 guys from my hometown that want to hunt Ohio..Geezz..How come nobody want to goto to maine with me? Cant recruit anyone to go there:rolleyes:...Here's a pic of my buddy that went shed hunting the past 2 days on Ohio publicland....I pointed them in the right direction..they scouted some publicland out and found this skull..They also found about 10 or 20 rubs the size of your thigh..They are excited.:D

No, those are great places to look, and actually in the first picture, and I know its hard to tell, but it is a transition / bedding area that has extremely heavily used trails.....and its thick, I've had the best luck looking in areas where bucks will get their horns caught up....one of the sheds I found the other day was hanging in mid air in some honey suckle
