We'll be having our "Fun In the Field With Airedales" soon near Newcomerstown. I look forward every year to hunting with other Dales as there are not many of us around. I'm almost as excited as Star!
Star will be 3-years old on Christmas Eve. That's where she got her name. She hunts and flushes like a Springer, but also trees squirrels. We sure have a lot of fun together!

That's cool, how may do they get for a turnout?

I guess we have about 20 people and most have more than one Airedale. It gets interesting at the hotel.

What kind of training do you give this breed?

Fun in the Field with Airedales was last weekend and it was great. Lots of great hunting and friendship. Then we finished by sitting around a bonfire in the middle of nowhere, eating venison stew, barbequed pheasant and watching the lunar eclipse. It just doen't get any better than this!
Politicaldog: Almost forgot, but I trained mine just like a Springer, but I know of 2 Airedales that point. In their hunt tests they need to flush and retrieve upland birds, retrieve ducks and track a 'coon to a tree.
I really love the breed.

That does sound like a great time.....I bet you could sell tickets to that outing...Seems like you would want to make a tradition every year...of course minus the eclipse.
