Over this weekend an upgrade of our forums to version 3.8.0 will occur. This version of forums software will knock your socks off. Social groups, integrated photo albums, social networking, social groups, and blogs are coming. Some of these features will be limited to sponsoring members, other features will be available to all....

How long will the site be down?

You never know how long it might be down. I usually try to get the dirty work done quick and then bring the site back up quickly and pretty it up as I go along. Depends on how the software wants to treat me. I have a business meeting tomorrow at 1pm, so sometime in the later afternoon I will start.

That the beauty of doing this stuff is that it's all up to me. I have to make sure everything is going to be compatible and users happy. If I screw up it's also all on me ;)

Didn't get to it today. Was out on other business. Looks like tomorrow is the day. This will blow you guys away. It will be a combination of a sportsman's site, facebook, and myspace all put together.

It's all part of Web 2.0. Giving the users more control over the content of the site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0 When this site update is complete, this website will be the most technically advanced Ohio forums around. No worries about this becoming another facebook. Just more ways to connect with your fellow sportsmen here. We haven't finalized what will be open to all vs. supporting members. I'm thinking all will have access to everything except Blog which will be a Supporting Member only feature.
