Specifically looking at Network Admin.... I am currently in the Cisco Acadamy and will be moving to Sandusky in the Summer time and just wanted to see what the outlook was for the Toledo through Cleveland area...

Thanks

I'm in the IT Field. I work at a manufacturing company south of Cleveland and am our Systems Development Manager on the software programming side.

Things are very slow right now for our business. Lots of cost cutting initiatives :( .

The field you are going into sounds like a good area of IT. I would think there are companies in Cleveland and/or Toledo that will need your experience.

Thank you.... The good thing about being a Network Administrator is that every company needs to get online and once I get more seat time I will be able to telecommute for my job... :D

I've been in It for the past 10 years. I was in the Army as a Sys Admin, Got out and worked as a contractor at WPAFB for 3 years until I picked up a job as a Data Storage Consultant with Dell... I now work as a Data Storage Engineer with another company.. I can tell you that 4 years ago in Ohio a guy could get a great job in under a week.. I got laid off last July from Dell and it took me 2.5 months to find another job in the Dayton Columbus area... I can't speak for Toledo, but it's rough out here... Another thing is most large companies in Columbus are under a hiring freeze. Nationwide, JP Morgan chase, Honda and AEP are the ones I know of... There are jobs to be had but don't look for the salaries of 3 years ago.
