i was in my stand from noon to dark. i had sat there for a couple of hours and nothin, so i figured what the heck i pulled out the old grunt call and layed some calls out every 15 to 20 minutes when i realized i only had an hour daylight left. my stand over looks a beautiful area of trails that cross in front and go beside me, and i know the deer come toward me in the morningbut what i didnt know is that they come from behind me which is elevated almost to stand level. after 45 mins of calling i heard movement behind me so i slowly stood up and turned around and raised my crossbow and followed them in waiting for a clear shot. the only doe that cam close was 30 yards away and didnt give me a clear shot i didnt move a muscle and she saw ME!!!! i dont wanna limit myself to morning hunts on the weekend and im lookin for some input on what to do. the only thing i can think of is maybe hang some kinda false cover behind and be still and quiet and let them come in front of me? what do you guys think ?

You can do that or maybe move the stand if possible to a better location so that they aren't going to see you so easily. Can you split the difference between where they move in front and where they came from behind??

not really this is the only tree in the thicket i could put a stand in. the trails come from every direction. the only place i could move my stand is 75 yards to the west , and that brings them in downwind from me, not to mention i could only get a shot off with a muzzeloader or a shotty, so i guess i should put some concealment around my backside.
