One of the guys in our club got some wild birdwork on Woodcock this past week. Has anyone else got into any yet? I'll be heading out this weekend and early next week to get some training in if it's not raining.

Lance,

I know a fella that trains in PA who has a good population of Woodcock & Grouse that he trains on. We went over Sunday and my Gypsy dog had 3 grouse on one point and another Grouse on another. Had that all within an hours time. :D

It was great.

Ive been working with pup(Stitch) alot on dead crippled pigeons, I should have him fully broke to gun by start of grouse opener.
Ive been working on basic dicipline commands work like Hup/Heel and kennel.
Every thing he has shown me so far he will be a great hunting companion.
I cant wait just to shoot first pigeons over him :D

Finally got the dogs out for 2 hrs today. Bumped 2 woodcock and had non-productive 2 points that I think the birds may have got out on the dogs. Sure was great to get out!
