Can't believe this. We just finished cutting up my doe and found two other slugs in her. One in the shoulder that was healed over and another from a previous year in her leg with a nice crack in her tibia. Neither were really affecting her as she ran right into the thicket before slowing down and the shot.
Goes to show how tough deer are. And a concession to slug hunters wounding deer, but she didn't seem to mind.
Has anyone else seen this in their deer? And yes, that means those nasty puss pictures.

Yeah coonie, we've debated that at length ;)
I meant this in the deer processing light, but we don't have a folder for that.

I can remember at least twice that friends have told me they found healed over bullets. One was a 20 gauge slug the other was a (if I remember correctly) a 44 bullet. Both were in shoulders. I also had a friend cut by an old broadhead while gutting a deer.

A broadhead would make me hate bowhunters for life.
I was real pleased, we got about 30 5 people meals out of it (a little on the picky side since this was the second deer we did this year) of steak, stew, tenderloin, and burger.

150 meals? Geesh! You guys must have little appetites:D
When my 2 sons were in high school we went through 1 steer, 2 hogs and 5 deer one year! I thought they'd never get full!:irked::D

The burger we figure and package at about a pound and a half...two pounds of stew meat, and then 5-7 medium sized steaks.
