Moultrie D-40 problems?

IF any of you guys have this trail cam do you guys have a battery life problem. seems like mine goes dead in a couple of days.

I have one and I thought the batteries were dead and when I took it home there was 3 nice pics of me carring it to the truck because it goes into sleep mode! Unfortunantly someone else has it now!

I have 2 of them and they work just fine. The batteries lasted over a month in the fall but I am not sure what they last in the cold weather. I will find out this weekend when I pick them up. I usually get over 100 pics with one set of batteries.

I am not sure how the sleep mode works. I thought it comes back automatically when it senses movement. I will check it out and let you know.

Battery life will increase with good quality batteries. If you use cheapies they won't last long. If you call moultrie this will be one of their first questions to you. I can get several hundred pics with my d40 on one set of batteries.

I have 2 ,I think in colder weather the batterys get used up sooner.I have ordered a solar power pack to try , One thing I do is face the camera to the sun as most of pictures are low light it does not hinder the pictures and I seem to get more from the batterys.It was -10 yesterday both still working.BB
