I will be, I know of a few spots that should be productive! :D

I will be out there looking to see what deer made it and to hopefully fill a doe tag. It will be cold but I enjoy this time of year. Bowhunting in the snow is awesome!! :bouncy:

I'll be out there. I'm going to set up some feeding areas, with various types of feed. This time of year the deer are going to be all about the food sources. I plan to use some bags of sweet corn (Meijer has it on sale in 20# bags, $4), some bird seed and some apples & pears & oranges...if I can find them.

Often grocery stores will throw out produce or have it at a greatly reduced price.

I talked with a guy in a store that had a flat cart with 8 to 10 bags of wild bird seed. I asked him if the birds in his are were getting skinny. He said that the deer love it and he was setting up a feeding area. I figure it's worth a try.

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

I'll be out there, hoping to get my season turned around. I've killed 3 does so far with my bow, but have yet to even draw on a good buck...hopefully that happens this week.

I'll be out until the last day of the season! I too will be hunting over a food source. Last week I went to the apple orchard in town and picked up a ton of them off the ground. Good Luck ya'll!

My question is; "who would still have a tag this late in the year?'' Has it been that ruff of a season that many hunters havn't had oppertunities to fill all tags with gun and bow/ Or are hunters meaning to wait???? Ive neaver had tags unfilled this late before. Are populations down this year??

I don't know about others, but speaking for myself here. I skipped out on gun season, cause really, I just don't see the sport in it anymore. I am really into bowhunting, and enjoy the thill of the hunt more than I do just killing a deer. Personally, I am holding out for a nice buck, as I have already killed 3 does with my bow this year. If a nice buck doesn't present himself, then I will be eating tag soup. I've killed enough small bucks through the years, that I am to the point now where I would really like to take a mature buck.

I will be heading over to Zaleski next Sat to hunt the am in a spot I have seen small bucks almost every time I hunted it 6 total.

Not sure what to exect after the orange army has been at it.

If nothing else I will give me a chance to better learn how dear travel which I hope give me a chance yet this year at a shooter.

After shooting a buck on my 3rd hunt there last year I guess it was a blessing and a curse. I am happy with the buck I shot but got lazy scouting for this year because I just knew that scrape line would be hot this year... very little buck sign this year and no buck seen the 5 times I hunted the same tree.

well im all tagged out never really seen a nice doe during gun season (suprised about that) i took a button buck friday morning......around my way it is almost impossible to get a deer within bow range.....i tried one year and they were so skittish yet. I would even make a doe grunt they were flying, and they hear a twig break (not from me) they would jog away......it was like this until after the first of the year...

I will keep trying for the big buck I have seen, hopefully he is still around after all the d@mn people driving around the property. Saw two injured does out of range this weeknd, so sad to see injured deer as a result of unethical shots/hunters.

I will probably set it out until the second gun season and muzzeloader season. I have college finals coming up next week and im sure that will take up all of my time. Ive hunted hard all year: taken a mature doe with my bow, seen tons of deer and some nice bucks, but I have just not been able to connect with a buck that i would consider a shooter (Usually because they have been just out of range in bow season). But good luck to those who decide to brave out the cold conditions!

I still have my buck tag left. Hope to finish with my bow this year!

I'll still be out with the bow, I have not killed a buck yet. If the property you hunt does not get really pressured hard during gun week, the action will still be good. The main properties we hunt don't get insane pressure from drives and tons of hunters around them, so late season is still productive.

I've never bow killed a buck after gun week, but I hope that changes this year!

I got a nice buck on the 14th of Nov, but just got burnt on my two 15 dollar doe tags. The big buck was easy, the does kicked my ass last week. Did not see one flag. Heard lots of shooting. Maybe I am just supposed to use the bow.

I still have my buck tag. Only got out the first 3 days of gun season and didn't see but 1 deer.

I got my first bow in Oct and have been working with is everyday since. I think I'm ready and hitting consistantly so yes I will be out a few more times. I hope to get out twice a week till the season ends.

I'll be out this coming weekend some. All the pressure around where I bowhunt should have all the deer in pushed into my sanctuary, just have to get out ;) :D

I'll be out here and there up 'till the closing bell. I went out last day of the reg. gun season week on public WMA, and was amazed that I was the only vehicle out there. Deer had already returned to their "normal" behaviors (no sign of Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome!). Had a chance at a nice buck, but my extra layers + backpack got in the way of things. :irked:

I am kind of thinking they arent as jumpy as people tend to think they are after gun. I bet they are hunkered up tight but i think after a day of not hearing the orange army out there shooting at everything that they will be back to normal.

Heck I just saw a kid last night driving through canton with a nice 11 point in the back of his truck.

I only bowhunt on the farm I have permission to hunt in ohio. Farmers killed a 14 pt sec. day of gun season but it was dwarfed by the non typical that was running with the 14 pt the day before. I am going to hunt hard till the end to try for this buck.

I'll be out there, heading to camp tomorrow for a few days.

I've taken at least 4 bucks during December with a bow, so I have a lot of confidence during the late months...actually I've think I have done better on "mature" bucks in December than I have on mature bucks in Nov...yes, actually for mature bucks and me it would go, October, December then November of I had to rank them....I jsut don't get along with the "no-pattern" that occurs during Nov.....seems anyone can kill a mature buck then besides for me.

Ah, the cold December air going down your lungs, frozen snot, cold nose, and the occasional tree-stand flatform frozen over with possum crap all over it...you gotta love to hunt....brrrrrr.
