Hello all I am a newbie here to the site. I live in Marion, Ohio. I am a small business owner (HVAC) I have been hunting for six years and have taken one deer (doe). I do not get to hunt alot because of work and family. We have two young children 6 year old daughter and 2 year old son. Well I found a small wooded area near our office and started to scout it when I kept seeing deer there. So i sat up a stand and started hunting and stopped seeing deer. I took a good friend out he sat in the fence row and took a small 8 point. Well I got a call today and I was told to move my stand out because they are going to be taking the woods down starting monday morning. They are going to completely flaten the whole woods. Man this really sucks. I was really hoping to get an opportunity to take a deer this year but i will have to start looking for a new place to hunt. I quess I was just venting here tonight. Good luck to all those who have yet to fill there tag.

Sorry to hear about your loss of land. But now is where the fun begins....just get out there and start nocking on doors. I know it doesn't sound like much fun at first but once you start nailing new property to hunt and you start taking deer it becomes fun. Good luck in your ventures, oh.....being you own your HVAC business don't be afraid to use that as a door to new property. Meaning, if the land owner needs some work, hook them up, but I'm sure you know that. Happy hunting!!

Owning your own HVAC business I would think would give you lots of opportunity for acquiring new land to hunt. Whether it be bartering or just making the initial contact through your business, I think you'll have a good chance of replacing and adding to your permissive land.
