Later this month, we will be creating a new category in our Photo Gallery titled 2003 Bucks. This is a place where you can upload pictures of the buck(s) you've taken only in 2003 and only in Ohio. Registered users of this site can vote on the pictures uploaded there and that alone will determine the winner. The winner of the contest wins an OhioSportsman.com fleece pullover (http://www.ohiosportsman.com/html_pages/display.php?file=shirts.htm&b=Shirts) of your choice in color. Tell your friends and don't forget to enter your buck.

This seems like a good idea, but it also seems a little subjective? A guy could be relatively unknown and shoot a whopper 20 point non-typical buck that scores near 200 and not win because a guy that everyone knows got a 130 class 10 pointer so everone votes for that one? I have no idea if something like that would play out or not? I am just making a point that it seems a little subjective.

It is subjective and that could happen. That's why I emphasize that this is for fun and the prize is kept small. There's no way we can very accurately judge these deer from a small picture on the internet.

Thanks for putting things into perspective for me Steve. You know, an Ohio Sportsman fleece would be like a million dollar prize to me!!!!!!

What happened to my first post?
Questions: When does the competition end? Any thoughts to categories, like archery, gun, blackpowder?

Don't know what happened to your first post but to answer: The contest ends on the last day of the last open deer season in Ohio. All categories of firearms will be grouped together (i.e. no seperate contest for archery, etc). We are all deer hunters no matter what weapon we choose.

Maybe this will be the year I get the big un. Ive been chasing as of last year a 14pter. Ive been following him for a couple years and most of the time I only see him in bow season and he's just out of range. Lol who says deer are dumb. I shot a buck too early last year and had to pass up a massive 10pter but thats alright. Good luck everyone~! Critter Getter just out of curiousity is there any chance I could know you? I grew up not far from you at all (Marengo and then lived basically Mt Gilead).
Good Luck and looking forward to seein some pics!

Hey Zfish, I would say it's unlikely. I grew up in Marion. I just moved out here this spring. Where do you do most of your hunting? I mostly hunt the Delaware Wildlife Area. Morrow county has a lot of nice bucks, but most of it is private land. Got any suggestions on who is willing to provide access? Let me know. Thanks!

Dave Ross is sure gonna be hard to beat!!!!!!!:D
That would be true, if he were a registered member of this site. If he isn't, then we still have a chance, and if he is, well then our chances aren't very good!
