Here is a new twist on jerky. Well its new to me, it is actually an old idian recipe.

8 oz. venison jerky
1 cup raisins
1 cup snipped dried apricots
1/2 cup ground walnuts
1 tablespoon grated fresh orange peel
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/3 cup vegetable shortening or lard, melted

Process jerky in food processor until very finely chopped. Set aside. In same processor combine raisins, apricots, walnuts, peel and allspice. Process until finely ground. Return Jerky to food processor. Process until mixture forms into ball and no longer sticks to side of bowl.

Roll mixture into 1" balls. Store pemmican balls in between layers of wax paper in airtight container. Store in refrigerator.

I just made some tonight and it is a great twist on jerky. I think it would make a great snack to take to the stand.

Not sure if I would like it, but it sounds interesting.
