Is it legal to sell Venison after it has been processed into jerky ?
Here in Ohio.

The reason I ask, I have some friends that want to pay me for my time making them jerky, out of the deer I harvested.

The way I see it, you aren't selling it to them. They are just giving you money for the time and ingredients to make it. Some of my non hunting buddies will give me money on occasion to offset the processing fees. I then give them some jerky steak etc.

Paying for processing.. and paying for meat are 2 different things..

I would provide them with a copy of an itemized invoice stating that the venison is free of charge, however, your time, materials, and ingredients(other than the venison) have a price associated to them with a built in profit. That's what I would do.

its not illegal to sell it to friends , its only illegal to sell it on a commercial level like in stores and stuff with out the right legal mumbo jumbo crap which is what im going through right now , but selling it to friends and family is not illegal . im looking into selling mine commercially hopefully by summer , i started out giving it away as gifts and my inlaws starting buying my jerly by the pound , well word got out about my jerky and now i have close to 50 customers wanting me to make them jerky , the funny part is harrison county game warden is one of the people wanting some , i guess home economics in school was good for something besides hooking up with girls
