So just out of curriousity (spelling?) those of you who shoot squirrels w/ .22's, what kind of ammo do you shoot? I shoot Remington "golden bullets" they are cheap and seem to be extremely accurate.

My favorite is my old Marlin .22mag with 4-12 variable for dialing em in;) Winchester WRM solids shoot best and does'nt tear em up too bad.......TF

I hunt with a Marlin 39-A or my Savage Mod. 5.
I use Rem. THUNDERBOLTS that I file down a flat point. I have a old 22. revolver cylider that I had milled down a bit. I fill it up with THUNDERBOLTS and file them off flat. This gives those TREE RAT"S one heck of a "SMACK"

I love shoot the CCI's mini mag ammo. They take those tree rats right out of the tree. By the way I just traded off my Ruger 22 Mark II handgun and got a Beretta Model U22 NEOS Semi-auto .22 handgun with a Bushnell Trophy red dot scope. Can't wait to sight it in and take out some tree rats.;)

I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but I'll never buy Remington "Golden Bullets" again. I bought a bulk box of 525 rounds for plinking and have had more misfires than I'd care to have in a lifetime. I've probably only used about 100 rounds out of the box, and atleast 20 were misfires.

I usually hunt with either Winchester Super-X's or CCI Mini-Mags.

I like to use Remington vipers or yellow jackets.
I once too had problems with the Remington gold bullets.
Me and a friend was plinking with them and had way to many
miss fires.

I ran into the same problems with those Remington Golden bullets. Several misfires and not that accurate.

Well, I don't feel as bad now knowing I'm not the only one who's had issues with the Golden Bullets.

Is there any limit to how many rounds you can have loaded in your .22 if so where can you get a plug for a tube magazined rifle

Winchester Super X Hollow Points shoot well from my .22's.

I use Eley target ammo on squirrels. Way accurate, and it doesn't take much to kill a squirrel!
