Ok I gotta ask, What is everyones opinion about squirrels with warbels (spelling??) I have heard that it makes the meat unedible, and I have heard that the meat is ok just cut out the spot where the warbel was. What do you think?

They don't hurt the meat at all. They're just under the skin, and once you skin the squirrel out, they're gone. They don't look appetizing, but they won't hurt you.

I have never shot a squirrel w/a warble till last year. Lucky, I guess. I didn't know weither to keep it or not? "When in doubt, don't." So I didn't. :(

When hunting squirrels this year always do the following:

Finally always check for warbles or other parasites that make their home on or in squirrels. If you find anything strange get rid of the carcass.
Well i guess you could always mail it to peta). Doesn't that stand for People Eating Tasty Animals. I don't think so. Anyway I hope everyone has a good season hunting these little burgers

I have never heard of this either. I've never seen it on any squirrels i've ever shot. Pretty nasty looking stuff!

I have found 'em in my pocket after carrying squirrels for a few hours. I always see warbels(pronounced "worbals" or "worvals" by the old timers) on rabbits. I didn't see them on squirrels until a few years ago. I eat them anyhow. What gives me the willies is picking up a flea bitten squirrel. I have chucked them in the brush...
