I live and hunt in NE Ohio in the Summit and Stark county area. My dad rattled in 2 small bucks on saturday evening, and my mom saw a 4 pt chase 3 does across the road on monday. I talked to my neighbor, and she said there was a monster buck and a doe standing in my driveway sunday evening. I have been seeing a lot of does, but not really any bucks yet. This morning I saw 12 does all before 9 am and heard a buck grunting, but never saw him. Tonight I didnt see anything. Has anyone been seeing any good rutting activity in other parts of the state???

Yes> I have been seeing rutting activity since the 3rd week of October. This week has been pretty good so far as well despite the heat.

While on patrol, in Plumbrook yesterday, i saw four young bucks & big "ole timer" actually surround, or single-out this doe and wouldn't let er go anywheres, as she tried to dart her way out. I watched em for about five minutes. They were oblivious as to my prescence and were aacting pretty crazy in thier courtship. I'd say; the "Rut is on" in Northern Ohio. Day before (the weather was nice and didn't see a deer anywheres, out & about.) Yesterday (When the front was coming thru and the temps dropped) they came outta the woodwork!I live and hunt in NE Ohio in the Summit and Stark county area. Hunted all day Sat. Saw 8 buck and 2 of them were chasing doe like crazy. All the other buck I saw were just cruzing around on trails looking. I'd say its right on the verge of getting really good. This week should be great. Wish I was able to hunt everyday this week!!

I hunt in Hardin County, Friday morning at daylight I had a nice buck and doe bedded down in bean stubble for an hour after sunlight. Doe got up and little buck came, bigger buck ran off the little buck. Saturday evening seen a little buck chasing a doe across the road. This morning on the way to work seen several bucks with does in the field at daybreak. Should be real good this week.
