Ok, Im thinking of buying a .22 Henry leveraction. I was wondering if anybody on here owns one and what do they think of it? I noticed the sights are a little cheap looking and the barrel band are plastic. What do you think?

I, had one, But my friend used it and I never got it back.
It was a real shooter. It had the smoothest action of all my leverguns. I SAY GO FOR IT!!!!!!!

by the way! He didn't give it back because it shot too "WELL"
I 'll have to go bye another I think!!!! "HE"LL PAY BIG"

Catdaddy,
They don't know what there missing. One great gun. If you want the yellow boy version is really cool too!!!! But its a bit $$$$$$$

My Marlin 39-A is a real sweet 22 also. You can pick up a good used one for about the same $$$ as a new Henry

same here on the 39-A my favorite of all my .22 rifles . i think it is a golden A ? or were they all ? anyway that microgroove barrel is a shooter.

I used to have an AK-22, but I traded it at swappers day for a CVA inline muzzle loader...:)

Madriver,
My Dad has a Original Marlin 39. He showed me how to shoot with it! Then there was the 39-A. In the 60's I think, they came out with the 39-A golden . Thats my gun. That micro-groove barrel is great. The marlins have really nice walnut stock also. Just a great gun for tree rats to groundhogs. But the Henry has a smother action though. The finish is not as good but its not bad. I'd be happy with ether in the woods hunting. Shoot strait BOYS!!!
I hope I get my Dad's Marlin someday? (three other Brothers) But not to soon Dad!

I've been thinking lately about a Browning leveraction 22, the BL22. It does the Short, Long, & Long Rifle thing. It has such a short throw on the lever that you don't have to take your hand off the stock to chamber another round. ;) :D If they're anything like my BLR I'd be well pleased.:D

I won a Yellow Boy at our club's fish fry and it is the smoothest lever I've ever shot. Exceptionally accurate and has a sweet trigger pull.

If I was buying I would probably go for one in all blue as the brass will probably stick out to a squirrel.

What would be really nice would be to have a Yellow Boy with an old fashioned tang peep sight.
