Thanks for this forum finally. Portage County is a big crossbow area with TENPOINT being based here in Suffield and Horton just around the corner in Tallmadge. I love it. My dad can hunt archery now since he has a bad shoulder and has became a better way for us to bond. Go Horton.

I've killed a lot of deer with a Horton and so has my wife with a Ten Point. I'm using a compound this year but boy do I miss that scope.

I have a Horton I bought 8 years ago, shot a deer with it for the first time last year, Sunday before shotgun. Up till that day, every time I ever took it out I NEVER seen a deer :coco:

It says that time starts at a half hour before sunrise, does that mean I cant go in the woods till then or I cant be in my stand till then?

that means, you cant shoot until then, you can be in your stand as early as you want. Good Luck

I got my start with a Horton. A very nice piece of equipment. Killed more deer with that then I have with anything else. Went to compound three years ago and love it. I don't think I will go back to crossbow unless something like an injury will force me to. I did enjoy it and encourage anybody who wants to to use one. I have many fond memories with my Horton. I had to sell it to get my compound. Wish I still had it though for my wife.

Thanx for that info "OHIOHUNTER88" I appreciate it. Just to go with the subject for before I have a Horton and I havent got a deer with it yet but I do love the way it shoots and feels. I went from shotgun to my crossbow for the extra hunting time in the season and hope to get one this year. I will also wish everyone good luck this season and remember to hunt safely. I'm gonna get an apprentice license for my son and take him out this season so keep it safe for myself, my son, and all the rest of us out there. Good Luck again.
