Thought I would share a simple way to cook some deer. We don't allways have the time to do things by scratch, and tonight was going to be one of those nights, so I prepared ahead, and took a short cut.
I started by cooking a bonless hind roast yesterday. Sliced it up today and let it simmer in the slow cooker all day in Au Jus sauce I buy at the store. Next I got two boxes of Hamburger Helper out(go ahead and laugh) I followed the directions on the box somewhat. After doubling what I needed, I drained the deer meat so I could measure the liquid substituting it for the water the box called for. I cut the milk back to three cups, and used a cup of sour cream. I also added some more egg noodles. Then I realised I wasn't saving anytime, and was really getting into it and opened a beer. I basically followed cooking times on the box, it turned out pretty dang good!
