I'm in Mich and I would like to try dove hunting for the first time.
Can anyone give me advice as to where to hunt? liscense cost?
I would like to stay near the Mich border if possible.

I can't give you much help because I don't hunt up that way. Best thing to do is go to ODNR page and check out the dove info.
In Ohio many wildlife areas have sunflowers planted then they brushhog them to spread them around. Many parks will have 5 to 10 fields. Not all the parks have them, you'll have to do some research or call 1-800-wildlife for info.

I would recommend going on private land. All you need is a couple of cornfields. Should find alot of doves. I hunted 1 corn field almost the entire season. Shot tons of doves. If its hot find a water source near food, they have to drink alot when its hot.
