well i finally git to go huntin, shootin better than i have for yrs...well i haeard for i left it was gonna be real warm but i still had confidence...but this bothered me...
so's i git out to muh tree an up i go,no problems,i didnt even drop my head lite after geyttin up tuh bout 12 ft.(the base)...an then it gits light but still is purty cool...but lo an behold where in ell am i...holy deer grunt:gaga: ...its so thick i cant see 20 yds...so thats prolly the reason i doan see nothin but bout 20 squirrels an 7 chipmuns the whole time i'm there...but it was the right tree...anyways that was it...i left at 11:30...startin tuh warm up...went back to my new tent an stayed there never tuh go out again...but i will be back this weekend...i seen several hunters who had bout the same xperience...all seen lots of squirrels an chipmuns but no deer...but we did see 4 deer with our headlights on the road...so that made me have hope...just an honest accessment...hopefully its better next week...there was a good bit of hunners but so what...i seen nobuddy else in the woods...its a very big place...stars were out an bright, lot of owls hooting...an the new tent is great...at least i know that now an i did take four wonderful shots out of the stand...an they were good shots...i counted em off later...12 yds...which i knew this as the trail is only 12 yds. from my tree...but the new challenge was findin somewhere to shoot thru...next week i'm takin muh feeshin rod cause they wer jumpin a lot an i'm usin all them glow worms for bait...a local tole me they are killers there on the feesh...an thats my report:D

Summary of coonskinner's post. He went hunting Saturday and saw deer driving in. Got in his stand tree at dark and light came and he discovered everythings still very thick and green leafy. He took some good confidence shots from his stand. All he saw was a lot of squirrels. After hunting till about 11:30, he made camp and slept in his new tent.:D

this is one of the wells...bout 5 ft. off a well used path...there are a lot just like this out there...this one is one of the smaller diameter ones...hunters mus be very careful at all times...at least 10'deep
