well,it was their 1st ever loss to a mac school.i like the mac conference,i was a west greener while i was at athens, but there's no way that a big ten team should lose to a mac school.usually too much of a talent mis-match.
and i'll admit osu didn't look very good against purdue but they won.

I was actually in Michigan doing some Salmon fishing. My buddy texted me the results:nono: . Our QB's are terrible. Every game we miss atleast 2 sure TD's jus because they can't make an easy downfield throw. Our Defense gave up just 2 field goals and they scored on a 100 yard INT return. Tate Forcier and Shavodrick Beaver can't get here fast enough in January.

Historically we have a tough time with Purdue....our pain in the arse team, no matter how bad they are.......in the 2002 National Championship year....we won the game on the final play with a heck of a throw for a touchdown!!!
Does anyone remember that???

You can say what you want about OSU losing national title games and having some games be closer than maybe they should be...but they don't do that! Take a second and think about just how bad Toledo was. They were a 1-win team. They lost at home to Florida International. I think they were giving up an average of about 35 points per game. They go into the Big House and hold Michigan to 10, and walk out with a win. Wow. :D :bouncy: :D

If you are referring to the Liberty Bowl loss to Air Force, that would have been 1990. My remedial math skills tell me that was 18 years ago. :D

Things are rough in A2 and the natives are getting restless. This is a team most people thought looking at the schedule could realistically go our and win 7-8 games this year. This WAS a realistic goal they could have achieved by playing good defense and not making too many big mistakes on offense.
I think the frustration up there is 3 fold 1) the defense has not played well at all. They've had 1-2 quarters in games where they were dominating, but overall they have largely under performed 2) they expected some sloppy play, but if you look up the word "sloppy" you will see an 08 UM team picture. The Dallas Cowboys couldn't have won a few of their games this year with all the TURNOVERS and negative plays 3) they have not improved much if at all
#3 is what is really killing most of the UM fans I know. Sure it was very disappointing to open with a loss to a solid Utah team, but they expected this team to get better and be playing decent ball by now. There is no excuse for losing to a team like Toledo. UM may be young, but they have more talent on the sideline than Toledo. It was a coaching and execution nightmare.
If things continue to snowball and they don't start eliminating stupid mistakes, turnovers and playing more consistantly, RR's seat is going to get hot & fast. I'm not trying to say he is going anywhere regardless of how 08 turns out. But the urgency to win will be buring like a bon fire under his butt and if he doesn't come out and make a good 09 season things could get NASTY.
I'll be the first to admit - I am surprised UM is playing so poorly and I expected 6-8 wins this year. I really began doubting tem a couple weeks ago and certainly feel like they have a mountain to climb to go .500 this year.
I still believe they won't pull a Notre Dame and disappear from competitive football for 20 years. They will be back. Even an average coaching staff should win at UM - too many good players up there and too easy to continue to recruit top shelf talent.

Michigan AD backing Rodriguez in wake of upset loss
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan Wolverines (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/clubhouse?teamId=130) athletic director Bill Martin says football coach Rich Rodriguez has his full support, despite a 2-4 record and three home losses -- including an upset loss last week to Toledo.
"There's absolutely no question I'm totally supportive of Rich," Martin said Tuesday. "Was I surprised with the loss last Saturday? Sure I was, no question about it. But I think he's the right man for this program at this time.
"You always have to, when you're sitting in my seat, look at long term. You can't look at instant gratification."
The loss to Toledo was Michigan's first in 25 games against Mid-American Conference teams. And the upcoming schedule offers the Wolverines no favors; next is a trip to No. 3 Penn State, followed by a meeting with rival No. 20 Michigan State.
But Martin called for patience, noting that another first-year coach, Alabama's Nick Saban, endured a loss to Louisiana-Monroe last season.
"And where is he now? [No. 2] in the country? Second year," Martin said of Saban. "So things turn quickly."
Rodriguez on Tuesday said that the team's transition to his system has been more difficult than he imagined.
"Most coaches will tell you in the first year they expect a few bumps in the road, some places maybe larger than others. Honestly I didn't think we'd have this many bumps," Rodriguez said.
"Unfortunately we haven't helped ourselves in some of the things late that have happened in games [because of] crucial errors," Rodriguez said. "But it's nothing we don't think we can overcome. And I certainly don't think there's anything the players don't think we can overcome."
And the whippins are gonna go on and on and on. Notice the no mention of THE game on November 22nd. Lloyd couldn't beat us and neither will Rich !!
Ya'll think this year's Michigan team is last year's Notre Dame ??
GO BUCKS !!!!

I learned a long time ago to never talk about beating Michigan before it happens. I will talk trash about Michigan, but NEVER "this is how bad we are going to beat you" talk. That has a way of coming back on you! :D

Basically Murphy has happened to UM. If it can, it already has happened and keeps happening. There's the whole double edged sword with regurds to gameplanning too. We could line up in a more traditional offense and probably be alot better, but I think RR is just letting it ride out for next year. As far as fans go, most who know better aren't really angry at him or the team. It's just basically the ones who seen the success he had at WV and the success we're used to having and they expect the same. They don't realize that we are the absolute youngest offense in the whole NCAA. They also don't consider that we are switching to one of the most difficult offenses to run without the proper personell, especially the QB who is responsible for most of it. Think about this if you've watched the games.....If UM had the other teams QB every week, at worst we would be 5-1. The 1 being ND cause Threet actually played OK, it was just all the other fumbles. We have 2 stud Dual threat QB's enrolling in January along with tons of talented skill players. Although Bryce McNeal just decomitted. We are in on plenty of other stud WR's though. And we already have a jumpstart on the 2010 class with a Vebal from Ricardo Miller and Marvin Robinson, and their best buddy Lo Wood coming up to visit next weekend also. All will be 5 stars, and all are from FLA.

bingo Cream....it takes 1 game.......and the game on NOV 22 will make The wusserines year. They will be the most dangerous ever this year IMO...Because right now....they have nothing to lose on Nov 22....they will make their year by winning.
This game will be closer than we think......I will see a very hard fought game...with the one that wants it the most winning.
Just beacuse RR is new there and having difficulty, it will be the game that saves his year and his behind this year. He will come out with both barrels loaded.
Great job by Toledo!!!
