I've been a member of this site for a couple of years now... but never have I had the opportunity to deal with pure ignorance like I have lately on here...
From the false accusations of happenings within the OBA from Oldhat... to Oldhat going on a self appointed mission to destroy someones company, reputation, and product that they have worked hard for...
I can say that I will not be a part of that, nor do I want to know anything about it... the only way to get away from it is to vacate this site...
Basically I just wanted to say thanks to all the guys who have helped me with their information and knowledge, I can honestly say this place has made me a better hunter...
I have made friendships with people that will probably last forever... this is where I ran into one of my best hunting buddies, so had it not been for this site there would have been years and years of memories I would have never experienced...
And to team #9, sorry about jumping ship, but I will not stand for what has happened here in the last week...it's totally ridiculous...
45 you can go ahead and put an alternate in for me...
Once again I appreciate all the help I have recieved from everyone here... but I will not watch as some grown adults here go on a self appointed search and destroy mission... I'm done with it...
All the guys that want to get ahold of me know where they can find me...

I just read it too. Why let some dimwit run you off Hiller? I have a scent smoker an as much as I disagree with what oldhat said, he's still entitled to his opinion (even if it is wrong). Some people boost up their own miserable lives by crapping on other people. I had no opinion of oldhat prior to that thread and after reading his post, I still don't care what he thinks or says. I don't know about anyone else, but I stopped making fun of what other people had back in elementary school. I guess some people just never grew up.

Hold on a second Adam. Who's taken more verbal abuse on this site than me? And if anyone should take it personal, it's also me, Mike Rex. And that's because I'm not anonymous behind the keyboard. Don't take it personal buddy. I, as I'm sure others do, enjoy reading your stuff...and if you leave, oldhat wins. ;)
IMO, a little controversy every now and then keeps things interesting.

Its the internet. If funny you post what you did MRex, after I talked to Hiller today you popped in my head for some reason. I generally try and stay out of the b.s but sometimes I can't help it. Some of the stuff posted regarding this whole affair have been outright lies. I'm still waiting for the "shock and awe".:whistle:

i agree with buckslayer. i do not post on here alot but i read every post and lately it seems like every thread gets bashed. it is pretty sad to what this site is turning into. if people do not like each other then do not post . i think everyone on here is smart enough, or claims to be, to not post comments that are going to start a sh*t storm. i hope things get cleaned up so this site can return to what it once was. no more scent smoker threads would be a start because of what they turn into. use the products you like and if you do not like them then say you don't and leave it at that. people need to start acting like adults and talk about hunting and fishing, i do think that is what this website was created for. there is good argument and debate and bad and i think people know the difference. if i was a moderator on here i woulda quit a long time ago because even if they were getting a paycheck to try and referee this stuff would not be worth it. and one last note, think about the young guys getting into hunting that are on here reading this and looking for advice, is it really what you want them to think hunting and fishing are all about.

I admit to having slammed a couple of threads but thats just because i didn't buy into the products being pushed.I hate to see these two guys go as I've picked up a few things from them,but I've also watched as they tell other people that their not worthy to hunt the same state as they do.So, to these two guys I say farewell and good luck this year. :bouncy:

Oldhat is a tool.
All his behind the scenes stuff is beyond hilarious. The guy has NO CLUE what he's talking about. NO...friggin....clue.
I think it's funny that he has made it a mission (HIS mission) to rid OS of the Scent Smoker. I'd like to know if someone asked him to do that or if his oversized melon came up with it on it's own.
Did I mention what a tool he is?
Hiller, you know better than to leave. You let him get the best of you and he wins if you leave. Remember that it's the internet and it means NOTHING. You know who your friends are. If people leave over this stuff than so be it. I have seen it a lot in my time here. Heck I've seen it at work as well. Some new person comes in and tries to shake things up. You just laugh cause you have been there, tried that, tried to tell them that you've tried that, and still they try. Eventually you realize that just like the others you will outlast them and the new guys to come. It is even more embarrassing when they quit, burn bridges, then some how end up making their way back. Hope this doesn't happen here.........

My pm box is always open for suggestions on how to moderate this site. I guess my apologies? go out to those who don't like it and a big thanks to everyone who is here...it's hard to know how to respond but from some of the comments, and I can appreciate all of them, perhaps the mod staff is not doing enough. We are addressing this. But remember, CG, Lance, chopiq, myself and ALL the mods donate their time to try to maintain this site and improve it. I think I can speak for many of us when I say we have all benefited from the information exchange here. I know many of you would agree with that.
Like someone posted earlier, if you can't take the heat don't put yourself out there.

He is threatening to enlighten me on these forums for all to see, as if to shame me into hiding. The only thing on the matter I have at this point is that one of the persons "promoting" the Scent Smoker does not like me. To me, that is a ringing endorsement.......he does not like me, but likes the smoker. In other words, exactly the opposite of what Old Hat seems to think. Just a satisfied customer, not a friend.

Wish in one hand and shat in the other and see which one fills up first:p There is no "shock and awe", I have followed up on his threats and they have no merit. I can't believe I am still beating this dead horse.
The only downside for me is I brought a guy into this(and have since made amends), I got caught up and should not have done that.
45 you are doing a fine job. Thankless as it may be.

Brock, I hate to see friends start mixing it up and I consider both of you friends, although I've known old hat a good bit longer. He's a good guy and an excellent hunter.
To throw some water on the fire, ... I know (or think I do) what old hat is referring to. The fact is the smokers can be bought a little cheaper elsewhere. I know this because I researched it fairly extensively before I bought mine from you. I figure you put in the research and development for the smoker applications regarding deer hunting and brought the idea to the board, so I bought from you anyway. I have no problem with a guy makin a buck. It's what we're suppose to do.
regarding Hiller; there's a lot he posts that sounds 'expertish' but in fact is not. The fact that he is 'thin skinned' only adds to the fun as I see it. He projects himself as somehow better than thou in many threads but I have news. He can't take it as well as he serves it up. Now in the typical spoiled rich kid tradition, he threatens to take his ball and go home ... calling the waaaambulance, hoping the mods will take on his self made plight.

Well then, I'm sorry that I said anything about anyone with those greater than mine, actually I'm even sorry I am responding back to you, I probably haven't earned it. Funny how anytime certain people post something in regard to a few, the OS hierarchy come out to their defense. Yet, when one of the chosen are spouting off its just "stirring the pot". Have to love some of the hypocrisy on websites like this.

i kinda of know what both of you mean already and i'm the new guy. some people are here to talk about hunting and some people are here just to follow people around and talk trash i'v seen it quite a few times already.but i won't let that run me off i'm tougher than nails.;)

the only was i can see the problem being fixed. is to just ignore it. 45 we do have the option to put other members on our ignore list right? hiller just put the people you want on your ignore list and then you don't have to see their post.
Charlie....just don't listen to Oldhat and you'll be fine.
You're doing just fine. I know some of us haven't made it too easy for you lately. Hang in there!!! :)

Adam - You shouldn't leave over some junk mail pushing POS like Oldhat. He doesn't personally care for the smoker, so he's made it his mission in life as a responsible businessman to stop to promoting of the smoker on this website. Screw him. He is nothing more than a little man who thinks he knows it all and has some "Inside" scoop on the scent smoker. In reality, he has no idea what he's talking about.
At the end of the day, he's nothing but a garbage mail pusher that thinks he knows about business ethics? Sort of like those guys at in the parades that scoop up the horse turds and think they are a vet. :coco:

guys - as mentioned - just use the ignore button. I have been ignoring archer 1083 (I think) for about a year. Hell, I forget why I am ignoring him - but it works... I guess I will ignore Oldhat too.

Hiller- you will be missed and the same goes for anyone else that may leave or decrease their perticapation on this site because of any recent occurences between certain members on this site. Its pretty apparent to me as to what has happened and my opinion on it, but I will keep that to myself. Certian members of this site have provided me with invaluable information from everything from hunting tactics to what equipment I should buy and helping me to get my wife to go hunting. I will never forget the "open arms" type of help that many of you have displayed to both me and many other members on this site. Its a shame that some of you feel that because of recent happenings on the site it is nessary to leave either permitly or for just while, but if what I believe transpired between a few members happened I competely understand and would probably make the same decision.
Again you will be missed and I hope you change your mind.

i agree everybuddy here takes their swings an i been the target many a time,an i deserve it many a times...everybuddy deserves opinions,not just you...i agree the scentsmoker went too far...but its up to the moderators what action should be taken...no body else...i been blasted over the scentsmoker by my opinions...i doan have to agree ...but neither do you...an leave it at that...i hate to see anybuddy leave for any reason...especially this...the product will simply make it on its own merits...no matter what any buddy sez...in time that will be the only deciding factor to the products success...not what a couple people sed an i include myself...:biggrin:i've had my spats with a lot here but to this day i'd be tickled pink to see any of them show up at deer camp(wn) or to meet them at a greet an meet...

Sure you can find it cheaper somewhere else if you look real hard... But I just bought one and I bought it from Brock.. Why, moral judgment... Brock is the one that brought the tactic to my attention.. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have considered it... So give credit where credit is due.. I found the exact same thing 15$ cheaper, but I look at it as paying Brock 15 dollars for the smoker and 15 for al the work he has done bringing this idea to peoples minds.. Plus all the crap I have given Brock about it over the past years. If i bought it elsewhere and it worked I would feel like a real jackass and like I ripped off a fellow sportsman... BTW this weekend was my first go around with the smoker and It Works thread to come lol :shhh:
