I backed off and waited until morning to look for her. She crashed and burned about 40-50yrds from where she got shot. She has a MASSIVE passthrough hole. When I moved her, blood came GUSHING out the side that was being pressed on the ground.
I will post pics and stories when I get her back. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It was truly an amazing experience. The 1st deer I stuck I pushed. that REALLY got to me. I vowed to NOT make the same mistakes again. That is why when I shot it and ti went left, I let it go then went right...to my car.
The rain made me REAL nervous but it's something that every hunter (sooner or later) has to deal with. I know I could gone after it within like 30min in hindsight. But to error on the side of caution is always best.
I gave it about 2hrs then went to check for blood or soemthing. I found the bolt and that gave me hope. It was like, "you did it Francisco. You got your first deer". The hardest part was admitting going after it at that moment was not possible. So I went home, couldn't sleep for another 2hrs or so until i dozed off (then got up promptly at 6:35am).
In the morning it had been raining ALL night. I checked the ground but a blood trail WAS NOT anywhere to be found. I heard it bound through a little treeline so I figured, "well, it went left and now so should you''. There was a trail in that wooden path so I figured I would follow it. At the end of the trail...there she was.
It was an amazing feeling to say the least. To see her laying there gave me a very deep feeling of accomplishment. But at same time, I don't dare disrespect the animal or the sacrifice it had made. I saw the entry hole right behind it's left front shoulder and then the exit right in front of right rear leg (internals were slaughtered).
I got on my tow-vest harness and started dragging. All the while my mind is racing. I went over the shot 100x just analyzing and thinking and above all else ENJOYING the full experience. It's not that I take pleasure in killing. But at same time it's just that to know all my preparation, time, determination and so forth paid off...it's intoxicating.

Way to go buddy, you stuck with it and accomplished your goal.. It's the most satisfying feeling dragging that chunk of meat from the woods that you have put so much time and effort into taking.. Congratulations, you challenged the beast in it's own domain and won.. It's something man has done for thousands of years, the successful ones did it and the others starved... Don't beat yourself up over the ones that got away or mistakes you made, learn from them and succeed.
