Moultrie Game cam D40 $80.00 (fifth time Moultrie has replaced it)
6 Alkaline D Batteries $12.00
12 inch hard maple at perfect location $00
Smashing the D40 into about 100 pieces when it wouldn't work ............ PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like I stated above this was ANOTHER new D40 camera that I received from Moultrie as a replacement for one that quit working...for the fifth time in 4 years. I've got two stealth's that are working OK, But I'm about ready to give up! It really did feel good watching the damn thing go into little tiny pieces when it hit the tree:mischeif:

You wouldn't do that to an I-40, they are a great camera.

Bawana,
If you could put a cost on your experience with that camera, what would the dollar amount be? Please include the original cost, return shipping, total battery cost, and your time.

I have 4 moultries and not one single issue. I have a cuddie back that has spent more time in a shipping box than on the tree. I wish it would have taken a picture while you were crushing it. That would be priceless. :mischeif:

Just buy yourself a BuckEye Cam and forget about it. Then the only thing you'll be smashing against a tree would be your head after you missed that buck you had 100 pictures of on your BEC

Do you have $1000 I can "just" borrow? I would love to have one, but I don't think I will ever be able to spend that kind of money on a trail camera!

$600 for the stand alone version, and you won't have the kind of issues you do now, plus you'll never have to buy batteries again, and get 10x as many pictures you do now, both in battery life and trigger speed.

Sweep up the pieces, place in last received shipping box, label "return to sender", and drop into the mailbox. That is priceless too.

One day after hiking back to a nice spot, sweating, getting bit by hundreds of mosquitos and perfectly setting up my Stealh Cam it failed to work. This was not the first time a SC failed on me. I took it back out and unloaded my 1911 into it, boy sometimes unleashing a litle anger makes things so much better.:coolgleamA:
