... no pun intended. Are you like me and just set up on a solid bench and try to sight in a gun or do you use one of the various rifle rests (lead sled, HySkore, MTM, Inventive Tech)?

Get a Cadwell "The Rock"

I use it to sight in my 1000yd F-Class and Palma Guns. Its amazing.

Works great for slinging the .243 over as well for a little morning chuck shoot off the back patio.

I have the caldwell Lead Sled and I honestly will never sight in another gun w/out it again! Especially a slug gun or any large calibered rifle for that matter. It makes it very easy to adjust and the savings on your shoulder is great!

Those things are bulky and hard to carry to the deer stand. So I figure if I am shooting off hand in the field, I should practice off hand at the range. The do work well for sighting in...

At the bench- I stopped at the beach at Lake Erie and filled a couple of gallon zip lock bags w/ sand, then used the handy mans secret weapon (duct tape) to make a couple bags to rest the gun on for bench shooting. This helps me when shooting different amo in the begining to get the best round and groups. After that its all shooting as it will be when afield. Sometimes free hand and sometimes using a tree or log as a rest.
