I would be willing to throw in $10 to create a prize package for the winning team, or make/donate something to add to the package. Is that anything we would want to do?

I also have something started for that, I would like to take some of the proseeds from the Team Contest T-Shirts and purcahse a Gander Mountain Gift Certificate to split among the winners. If we could get a 100 t-shirts on order that would be great. So far we have a total of 32 orders. Again you can PM me or e-mail orders to jeffer0458@aol.com.

If I recall, monetary reward for these things leads to bad things. That's why it is all for fun!

Another vote for no money and no awards here.
I would just like to see it be a fun competition. My reward is the time I've spent and enjoyed in the woods-wether I kill or not. Just being there is reward enough for me.
The higher the prize, the more cut-throat it will be. I've had my share of those and would hate to see it involved in the sport (more like a lifestyle) I love sooooo much.

It's a for fun contest. That's how the contest was promoted and that's how it will be run. I will have nothing to do with it otherwise. I can take it all down and you guys that need that kind of incentive can start and manage your own. Sorry, that's just how I feel about it.

I think that if money was to be invovled that it should be donated to a good cause or a childrens hospital in the name of Ohiosportsman.com If there is one thing that I kno about being a sportsman is that they are very respectful, caring, and giving. That is my thought, and the only way that I would put money into it is for that reason. That way everybody wins by helping other unfortunate people out. There is an association that is called A.C.B.C. (Alluminum Cans for Burned Children) This is a great organization that does many great things for children that have been through terrible tragedy and trauma. I would like to see us help out people like this. :)

I would rather stick with the no prize...if not this contest will fall apart and there will be no contest next year.

No Prize! No Money! No Awards! Message heard. But I have something we can do? Lets donate something to a charity on behalf on the winning team. There are good things that can come from opportunities if you just think it out.

That and bragging rights I can live with :) Provided we can decide where the money is going of course. Oh, and it has to be entirely voluntary. If you can give $10 bucks fine, if you can't there is no shame. Only good things can happen when sportsmen reach out to help other people. It really does matter. Count me in.

Hey times are tuff for all, I just wanted to do the shirts and send some of the money back. Will find a good home for it and the fact that team 7 BUCK BAGGERS will have its name associated with it is just a bonus!:cheeky-smiley-022:

I am up for being able to donate what ever to whoever needs it. It doesn't matter to me wether it is the winning team or the website that gets the credit. Just so that someone less fortunate is getting help from those of us that are blessed so much that we don't even realize it.

Why doesn't each team pick a charity and the winners will decide who to send the money to ie: childrens, juvinile diavetes association, cancer society whatever.

Or perhaps it could go to a relay for life team. I am a member of the relay for life commitee at my hospital. That would be an awesoem idea!

I say wait until next year to do anything like this. Fact is it takes proper planning to work out all the "legalities". If it is put off for a year, it can be ready to go "without question". Trying to throw somehting together like this ALWAYS ends up in something going wrong.

I agree with Fransico. I think the seeds have been planted here to do some really great things to help some peopel out in the future here, but if rushed could really ruin it. I say we put together a plan to do something great for next years contest.

The Lake County Rod & Gun club which I am a member of sponsors Wickliffe middle school for the archery in the schools program. One of our members is about to take on a large fundraising effort to get more schools involved with this fine program. It costs about 2 to 3 grand to get a school started on this program. That might be something to look at as it could generate our future bowhunters. Just a thought.
