it really doesn't matter to me who it is either but.......last year i shot 5 does and an 8 pointer the last day of bow season in which i didnt post up for my team because they all stopped talking and looked to me like they gave up. so i have 400 acres that just uncle odie and i hunt.there are big deer on it but that dosent matter what they score for this contest. oh and deer attack almost any farm in ohio will produce 200 inch deer if they have food, water, shelter ,and the time to get biggggg

If I wasn't at work, I woulda been there with a camera. But, I did get to hear the big baby crying over the phone. "I got him Red! I got him!" Then after that is was a ton of mushy words I couldn't understand because he was sobbing so hard! LOL! Then the knob has to call my wife to bring him a knife to field dress it cause he forgot his. That night it hung in my garage and he wouldn't leave cause he was scared somebody was gonna bust in and steal it.:yikes: BTW, I honestly feel for people who shoot big bucks and have to deal with the crappy rumors that always follow. There were a couple of others that basically watched Harly get his deer. But that didn't stop all the locals from telling how they heard he shot it with a rifle, or how he trespassed to get it. On top of that, we had 4 stands placed in thnat area the year he got it, the next year, there were 7 others from other people and numerous ground blinds. That's why I'm half tempted to not even let anybody know where I hunt, but it's hard around here.

Any advice of shooting a buck on opening day? Have 2 of the shooters narrowed down, but I know the one I saw last year is still around. i will shoot the first shooter that walks by regardless of the opener or the rut whenever he comes i'll be ready.I have my thought on 2 deer this year one is a big ten and one i'm not sure all i know for sure is he has split browtines and is biggggg. gonna put a stand up tomorrow for both deer hopefully with some luck he will stroll by opening morning coming from the corn to his bed if he does he will be sorry he did.

I let a 130s walk last year opening morning. So yea I let them walk. Besides if oyu kill one to early you have to hang around the house more right! lol

mainly central pickaway co. also just west of logan elm h.s. ...my dad lives over by deercreek, I hunt some there also. and sometimes up above ashville, or I go down to vinton co. and hunt a friends place.

I been out looking for deer. I have seen alot. I have seen 9 bucks in two blocks. 3 are just nice :) . hope to put one of them on the ground. Its going to look nice beside my 21pt. I've been seeing a dandy right here by the house for a few weeks now. yesterday we hung 2 stands in great places for the pre rut. When i sat in those stands after hanging them i could just feel that they were in the best possible spots to get a chance at a big boy. We picked out a couple of spots for our final set ups which will give us 7 hang ons in about 400 acres of property. This year is shaping up to be a dandy these cool nights are making even my neck start to swell..

A buddy went down with me to put some stands up for me. Went over to the plot to check the cameras. Some %&$*# Took 2 of my cameras down and hung them back up facing each other on a different tree! I checked the cards and have a picture of someones finger when they grabbed the camera. So far this year I have had 1 camera stolen, one hub blind stolen and a set of climbing sticks and a hang on stolen!!!!! I got a suprise for them next time they decide to trespass on me again!! Had a little flash back from the Army days:whistle: Hate to vent but I can't freakin stand a thief!!! Get a freakin job and buy your own gear!!! Well guys I took my son out with me tonight to do a final check on things before opening day. Had no major damage from the wind storms other than one large tree has blown down across one of my paths but no big deal. (I hope)

I'm kinda concerned by the lack of horns I've seen though. I got over 150 pics from the trail cams but mainly all does and fawns. I have got several pics of 2 different bucks this week but neither one a shooter.

One encouraging sight was a fresh rub not 10 yards from one of my stands. This stand is not in the same area of the young bucks I got pics of this week so maybe a bigger one made it.http://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/63.gif It happens to be the one I'm gonna hunt opening day if the wind is right.

tonight was a good hunt watch 2 buck fight for 45 mins. seen some does nothing to arrow yet. I am not going to hunt sunday morning but will be out at night. hope to put one on the ground then.:)

Saw 1 doe Saturday evening along with what seemed to be about 100 branch barkers and 2 big ol' coons.

Had an eventful Sunday night. Saw 7 turkeys on the way in to the stand. Was in the stand about an hour when 14 turkeys walked by right below me. Talk about trusting your camo !!

About 30 minutes after the flock walked by I had a big doe and 2 yearlings come in. I wanted that lead doe bad. She got within 25 yds but directly behind me in the thick stuff. Ain't that how it always goes ? She led her young un's into the corn and I never saw them again.

Later those turkeys had circled around and I got to see the whole flock roost from 50-75 yards from me. Man they sure were loud.

I was happy just to be out there. Good Luck guys. Let's all go get 'em.

Got out lastnight to hunt got to the stand or should i say ground. Seen my frist deer at 5:45 then at 6:25 a very nice buck walk right to me stop at 15yds hit him in the front shoulder then he ran hard for 50 yds and stop and started to walk slow. I did not move 4 a half hour and got up to find blood and had good blood went back and sat down and waited over a hour and look for 2 hour and lost blood :( :gaga:

Well boys i put one on the ground lastnight. Just a bb but its a deer. 5pts for our team. He went 50yds and stop, look around and fell over. This may seem bad but i like watching them fall, its the greats thing. Went out today did not seen anything heard a yote. and some deer running around never seem them.:) O and redhunter u can't talk now u got a bb this mouring. and it was alot smaller then my.

been working tonz of hours latley but i managed a couple of outings this week and one on saturday morning. on saturday morning i had a 140 8 point that jumped the fence about 30 yards in front of me and head the other way i tried to grunt him back but he just looked then continued on his way....i'll be out when i can and i'll let you all know how i do good luck to all and nice job to those of you who have killed:D

Went out to night got to my stand or should i say ground. I was going to set in my stand, but someone was cutting wood in the tree line, but i still wanted to hunt that is y i sat on the ground. So i went deep in the wood and sat down where i was thinking deer was going to run. was only there a half hour and had a doe at 35yds i shot her for 30yds and miss her clean. :yikes: owell that how it gose! Should beable to get out tomarrow night. Should be a good night to be in the stand O wait everynight in the stand is a better night at WORK!:D

How is everyone's weekend looking. This should be a good weekend to get things ramped up. I am going to athens with heartlunger for the weekend. That will be a good time. Few farmers told me they been seeing some big ones in the fields while picking. These are all spots I have permission at.

Well fellas I just got back from spending 2 days and night in 2 different hospitals. I woke up the other day and could not move my legs or walk. So Sucked up for a day and same thing on day two but could not take the pain anymore. Wife took me to the Local ER. They looked me over and said they needed me transported to Columbus Grant asap. They scared the hell out of my wife. Said I needed emergency surgery on my back to try to save some nerves(to walk again, use the bathroom, ect) So a squad ran me to Columbus. They shoved me in a MRI to pin point the nerves. Nero suregens look me over and decide to wait. So I just got home and have no idea what they are going to do next. I still plan on getting out to hunt if I can. But thought it would be best to let everyone know what i have going on. If you would rather have me replaced I have no problem with it at all. You guys talk it over and let me know. No hard feelings at all, if I can get out there I will try my best but just in case I can't until late season I don't want to hold the team up from winning it all. Sorry I didn't see this coming, i would have tried to get out sooner and score some points. Sorry I'm letting the team down, but I still think you guys have a chance to win it all.

Sorry to hear that BC, you do what you have to do. I haven't been on here in a while, computer problems a while ago. tuesday night was my first day out. i have a cheap cam out. been seeing five different bucks where I hunt. two maybe three are shooters, one is an absolute brute. I mainly hunt evenings and start 2nd shift tomm. for 7 days straight so I'll probably miss the best week. sor far haven't seen any chasing, just walking around the does and sniffing, but any day now........

I managed to finally get a buck a nice 8 point. I saw lots of bucks this weekend they were cruising pretty good. they were responding to calling well. I shot this guy at about 20 yards tonight after he mauled a sapling. Good luck to the rest of you guys in getting your deer.:D

Glad to hear of your success. Had one that looked very similar to yours come in on Thurs. night but I became a victim of the ol' duck the arrow trick these mature bucks seem to know how to do so well. The shot went right over the top of his back. I was able to fill my antlerless tag though Thurs morning and posted it for our team.

I got out today and saw a total of 4 bucks and 1 doe. Had 1 shooter hang up at 52 yards. 3 small bucks all together worked both my drag trail( code blue) and my scent bombs( Jackies triple threat). Let the little boys go, I have no idea why they were still together this time of the year. Saw one buck chasing. All of this was between 0720 and 0900. Moved to another spot at 1500hrs and saw nothing. Hope to get back out depending on how I feel after today. Planning on pointing my share of the points up! Stay safe, BC

Nice job on the Doe. Send me the pics to colsfire911@aol.com and I will post them. I got out today. Boy did I pick the perfect day to suck it up, man up and get out in the woods. Snow then rain, then sleet, then more snow, wind gusts! Had long beards are 15 yards for over 30 mins in front of me. A doz or so tree rats enjoying the weather. Not one single deer. I am not feeling to bad after a long hot soak, some meds and heating pad. So I think I will still man up and get back a few more times this week. Gotta pull my weight for the team! Are they still chasing or are they all locked down now?

Been slow for me. With the time change I now work from dark to dark during the week. I will be out this weekend. (sportin' the blaze orange so I don't get shot by a youngster during the youth gun season of course)

Looks like I have until Dec 5th to pull my weight. I am going to have a procedure on my Back on that day. I am going to try to get out at least one more time this week. Well boys put a doe on the ground tonight. Got to the stand at 330 seen 15 deer in all together small 6 4 pointer no big ones owell. Had a small doe a moster doe small 6 come right to me so i wax the big doe at 5yds she went 70yds. going to get tomarrow and c if i can put the big down.

hey boys hope you all are still at it sorry i cant really help the team much more than morale support. just wanted to let you guys know that i took my lil sis out this past weekend for the youth hunt for her first ever deer hunt. Sunday morning about 8 am a small 7 point buck chased a doe to the edge of a thicket that we were just inside of. the doe stayed behind as the buck started to walk off into the thicket just as i said lets try to turn and shoot the doe she whisperd here comes the buck back. he walked right in front of us at 50 yards broadside and when she said she could see his whole body i gave a loud maaaaa and he stoped perfect and looked back at the doe standing 40 yards to our left and she pulled the trigger he fell right there. she was very excited as well was i and my buddy who happend to be hunting with his bow just at the other end of the thicket..i'll post some pics as soon as i can

Just checking in guys. Sorry to say I have not been back out in the field. I did happen to find my way to the ER again. This time for a blood clot in my leg. So I am off my feet once again. I go in Fri to have my first Lumbar Injection on Fri. I hope to get back on my feet and finally do something for the team shortly. I have not given up yet! I have a record to protect. I have killed a deer with my bow every single year for the last 21 years! I will report back later. BC

One of my fellow teammates had an interesting sig, so I decided as a joke to use the same but reverse the roles. Perhaps whomever it was will step up and help me explain. This is what he had as his sig:

Well guys it christmas and i seen nothing out no where. This has been a bad year for me. only 2 does with my bow so far no deer with my gun. and i did not get a pic with my last doe :( o well. hey team i just wanted to let you all know i put an end to my season last week when i filled my last doe tag with the ole Bowtech. i finished with 6 for the season 4 with my bow one with my shotgun and one with my muzzleloader. good luck to those of you still pounding away
