Lets get this thread bumpin! Im ok with any team name that we can all agree on and anybody can be captain (do we have captains in this tournament?). Ill be hunting Medina county and maybe Guernsey, Coshocton, Morgan and Knox if im lucky.

I am 18 years old and this will be my 3rd year bowhunting and my 7th year hunting overall. I have plenty of 110 class bucks on camera this year and my buddy has a 170 inch non-typical on cam as well.

I hope we all have fun this year and bag some great bucks!

I'm not sure if any of these 3 bucks will make the P&Y min on net score. I think all 3 of them will gross over 125", but am not sure if they will make it.

I guess Tip and I have several hundred cam photos of these bucks over the last 3 -4 weeks, will be interesting to see what the lack of velvet in 2 more weeks will make them look like.

None the less, it will be hard to let the tight racked one and the wide spread 8pt walk. We (Tip & I) actually bumped these 2 bucks up today when we hung a stand in the bedding area about 300 yards from the camera these photo's were taken from.

Oldhat and I went last week to hang a stand in a bedding area and jumped 2 nice bucks about 20 yards from the tree that I had picked out. We hung the stand and won't be back in that area till opening morning. Checked the camera's only 1 more new buck on it a little 8pt. I've got another camera that been up for 4 week's now and all I got so far is a doe and fawn and a small scrub buck so far. Last year I got 7 different bucks in 10 days in the same spot. I think that the deer are staying in the 20 acre cornfield. Last year the field was soybean. I got a big buck on camera from that spot last year and I hope he's still kicking. I'll post a pic. off him later. Going to go to the in-laws house tomorrow and put out some corn and a camera.

Hey all! been away for a couple days...no pics. Camera was stolen, but we just got one of those Remington "The Ghost"....I guess it is a Moultrie cam with remington stamp on it. Should have some pics before season. I know this cool weather would sure be nice to have next week!!! I jumped a very nice buck while following a set of 4 wheeler tracks that led away from the area my camera was stolen, not sure but it sure did look like the dude I have been hunting for the last 2 years. How bout it though....how many of you guys are going to consider filling you doe tags? I always say I am not gonna shoot one in the heat, but I end up doing it anyway! I think if I get a shot I am gonna take it I need to re-stock the freezer anyway....:)

Well boys, here he is! This is the only pic I have of him, was taken last year. I had this buck inside 25 yards, I walked in on him and another buck fighting. I am very limited on areas to hunt him so I am gonna need a whole lot of luck! I believe I jumped him a couple days ago, but do to the tall grass I couldn't get a good look at him. Hopefully someone (Hopefully it is me) gets him this year, we think he is now 6.5 so time is running out. I also heard of a matching set of sheds that were found a couple of hills over from my area that scored over 200 inches, have yet to see them but the description sounds real close. This will be the third year I have been trying to meet up with him, so needless to say lots of time and sleepless nights have went into trying to arrow him. Odie gave me some great advice last year and it almost paid off, anyway on our other property things are looking very good! I have to work all weekend so I will be hunting evenings trying to fill my doe tag, good luck guys and be safe!

Oldhat...he sure is! The bad thing about him is that I know exactly where he is, but I do not have permission to hunt it. I am literally setting up on him on just 3 acres. It has consumed me for a long time, but knowing that I cannot get to his core area has taken its toll! I haven't given up, but a buck this old is not dumb and I think I flubbed my chance at him. I was on my way to my stand last year when I heard 2 bucks fighting, it was still very early but it was also a full moon. I worked my way through the woods and got as close as I felt comfortable and listened. I caught a glimpse of something moving across the field to my left and saw a very big buck trotting down the hill. After that I heard this guy snorting, wheezing, grunting, I had no idea it was him. Like a moron what do I do? I grunted at him, now, I am on the ground with very little cover grunting at an already pissed off deer! The deer came like he was on a rope directly towards me, when he crossed the creek and started up the hill is when I saw that it was indeed him. I had only the light of the moon and legal shooting time was about 30 minutes away, he got to the top of the ridge stopped for about a nano-second and turned and walked away!! I couldn't believe what had happened let alone that I blew the grunt tube at him, he would have been contenet with the herd of does that he was with until shooting light. I guess that is what you call buck fever, after that we only saw him one more time. I got a phone call at work telling me that he had just walked right under my stand......:irked:

I talked to "tip" via cell phone several minuts ago and he is not gonna make it to camp/will not be hunting for several weeks, sure they let him outta jail ( I paid his bail) but he said that he has to have a few hemoroids removed, he didn't want to talk about it but i'm pretty sure he was a "man boy" for several other criminals.

I got into my stand at 5:00 in the evening.
On the way to the stand I notice that the deer were hitting the acorns real hard especially the black oak tree that my stand was in.
I had 6 rubbed trees around my stand also.
I just got done putting on my safety harness and looked up the hill and here comes 2 yearlings does coming down the hill and I didn't even have my bow in my hands yet.
They fed around on acorns for about 40 mins.
I heard something behind me and it was the high rack 9pt that I had pics.of.
He was about 50 yards away feeding on acorns.
I heard somemore deer coming from the top of the hill and it was a doe and yearling with spots still on it.
The 2 other yearlings does went over to the doe and her yearling with spots on it and she stood on her back legs and started to waylay the other 2 yearlings with her front hooves and they took off running to the buck.
Then here comes another big doe in feeding on the acorns.
I had 5 does and 1 buck feeding on acorns and I only been in the stand for about 1 hr.
Well they all feed and left together going away from me.
About a 1/2 later the buck came back and started rubbing several trees about 15 yards from the stand.
He got about 5 yards from the stand and I put a 4 blade zwickey eskimo in him.
He went about 80 yards.

Hell no man, he's going to be cleaing the camper, managing does, heading to the grocery store to pick up things (like beer) and buying my lunch every day while I hunt...it's time for him to finally do something/take care of Oldhat.

He needs to tell everyone how he was about ready to give up hunting earlier that morning...I talked him into coming out in the evening..and wahlah. I guess the good thing about him killing his buck that early is that I now have 800 acres to buck hunt on all by myself...he'll be on the edges managing our doe population. His bow is now my bow......hehehe, I took Hillers advice, took my bow in for a tune up and a new string...well after 20 shots it exploded on me.....damn it, if it ain't broke then one should mess with it...my string had a little frey...now I've got no bow besides for Tip....I've got his arrows and broadheads also. I was pretty surprised that a 5'6" guy could grab a 6'2" guys bow and be pretty good with it in 20 shots with no mods made!

So, come this weekend you may be seeing another pic of that bow with one
of my deer!

I'm working on the golf outing with you on the 8th...how long until I can let you know....as mentioned it's the old lady's and my anniversary....she ain't said no yet..just so you have me back home by 6:00 and not drunk!

well guys opening mornin yesterday was a no show seen no deer at all i really didnt want to sit were i was but one of my buds bro shot a big 8 in velvet there 2 yrs ago and a bigger one came out yll he was waitin in his stand. so i video taped 4 bucks the nite before set my stand up on the edge of the clover field (thats were they were at dark chowing down that i videod) went to work workd till 500 left went back to the farm sat in my stand at 600 waited and waited and waited and waited and waited finally around same time i videod them the nite before the 10 ptr i taped came out about 75 to 100 away eatin the clover and walkin the whole time it made its way toward the middle of the field 24 min later (by the way this was after sundown 15 min after)so by now its getin to were i am runnin out of light he is 50 away debatin to take a shot or not i couldnt do it from 50 i never practiced that far away so i look left here comes 2 more little ones they were all playin lite was about gone wereu can just see their silohuttes i drop my binocs the one lil one was comin right to me about 40 stopped snorted at least 5 times ran about 20 away did a circle came right back snoted some more then theother lil 1 came over withit and they trotted off the whole time the 10 is out there 50 eatin clover like a champ i was as close to the field as i could get wat would u guys hav done this is a nice ten not no p&y but not bad i know there r way biggr ones there 150acres bordern licking river down 1 side and a creek on the other bordern the whole thing neighbor got soybean field deer r all over they had a wildlife guy out there he said they need to elimnate 30 does at least there is stuff all over saw a flock of at least 30 turkeys to and a coyote

Well guys last night was crazy. We sat for two hours with nothing and then my brother saw antlers to the right. this is what unfolded:

We let him sit and then searched for hours last night and then again this morning but had no luck. I hit him really high, and at first i thought it was low enough to get the main artery but each time i look at the video i think more and more that i hit him above the spine and its only a flesh wound. The arrow came out after he entered the woods and their was a moderate blood trail for awhile but it stopped and we circled the surrounding area over and over with no luck. Im pretty confident now that he survived the shot.

Went out last sunday and put up a stand on a new farm that i got permission to hunt on.
Went out sunday evening on the farm that i took my buck on and did a ground hunt near a pond and saw 3 does no shots.
Got a little rain the other day but, it's still dry out in the woods.
Going to hunt sat. evening near water on public land that's close to my house.
Will do the same come sun. evening.

well guys back from ky i hunted croosbow friday nite were i taped this ten pointer saw him at end of nite at other end of the field i was huntin hopin sat mornin i would see him sat morn i see no deer come in at all shots were firing from the property across the creeck from were i hunt wich is a clover field across the creeck is soybean fields they bed in ther come to the clover at nite well i couldnt hunt sat nite so sunday mornin was lookin great cold frosty i got in my lader stand 45 min a doe and 2 young ones came i wanted to shoot but she kept lookin over her shoulder like anothr was comin they walke across field thats that noyhin came out behind them 1/2 hour later 3 does ran from the oher end of the field had gun ready to shoot they come 10-15yds in front of my stand and stop i have it broad side pull triggr click nothin make sure safety is turned all the way bac click nothin again the deer r standin there lookin around were is this click comin from did it 2 more times then they run off muzzy cap didnt go off frustrated and in disbelieve get down out of my stand to go watch STEELERS wup the bengals i put 4 more caps in my gun befor 1 finally went off then i shot 4 more caps jus the caps went off every time watched the game went bac to my ladder stand at 4 until rite at dark i got down to stalk to the other end of the clover field got up on the hill there were 3 deer there creeped up to about 150yds rested the gun on hay bails wen it turnd broadside i let it go i could see the white belly through the smoke fall over sweet i was jumpin even though it wasnt the bigbuck i was wantin a lil button will do jus fine perfect shot rite through the heart did not go 5yds 2 pyrodex pellets and a Knigtht sabot 295gr was the slammer by the way i think i seen the ten point buck run across the field sunday evenin i think he made it it reopens the 8th of Nov i will be there wow:cool:

Tip,

I'm thinking about heading to camp tomorrow afternoon (Thursday), hunt tomorrow evening, Friday and possibly Saturday, come home on Sunday then kick off a week or so solid at camp on Monday.

Got my climber I left at the bottom of the tree last October on the 240 acres I hunt here...was still there...so I am ready to roll...clothes are washed, been working every night until 1:00 or so at the business to get caught up and squared away and it's time to take a long hunting vacation...give me a buzz tonight at the house if you get this otherwise I'll give you a yell around 12:00 or so tonight.

went out before work this mornin(got the advantage i hunt my work before and after got to love that) got to stand late 4 deer were already at my feed they saw me snorted all took off i climbed up my ladder as fast as i coul (quietly) they ran about 50 yds in the clear cut the powerline co cut saw them wallin around in the woods then at 5 til 8 a buck shows up in the distance with head up walkin threw thick brush was walkin right to my feed too him about 5 min was a 10 pinter sat there eatin for 10 min he was 15 to 30 yds broadside the whole time he was at my feed watched and watched then the 4 deer wich turned out to be 3 does and a button tried to come back to the feed they were snortin at the buck standing over my feed about 4 times then i seen them go up into the clearing the buck stayed ther i let him go sorry guys this buck will be a beauty next year i debated the entire time he wa there it would have been so easy to put this buck down but i thought and know there r 2 bucks in there i want to get a chance at so sorry bout that guys i will put the pics of the deer that were there and the buck that i let go ltr today i am at lunch from work now so talk later;)

Whats up gents? Haven't been here much cuz ive been hunting pretty hard. 54 deer sightings on 23 hunts. Tonight was my best non-successful hunt ever though, got some great footage of the 17 point my buddy had trail camera pictures of. Didn't present me with any shots though. I put up a trail camera on a scrape sunday evening. I checked it today and had 3 different bucks hitting that scrape.

well guys, have been busy workina nd huntin. Here is the deal, got word that the buck i posted earlier has been seen very close to the area I encountered him last year. This is coming from a very reliable source, as they are also hunting the same buck and area. I got audio of 2 mature deer fighting 2 nights ago, (will post when my wife finds the cable:irked:). I got that nervous feeling now that I know the big deer made it through last year. from the reports he is just as big if not bigger. Here is the problem though, I am literally only able to hunt 4 acres of ground in this area. I caught him with does last year. The great thing is that I am located on the edge of his core area, persistence paid off last year with 2 sightings, but I am gambling every time I sit there because it is such a small area. Hopefully one of the 3 guys who have been hunting him can put one through him this year. As far as we can figure he is in his 6th to 7th year, so we are now into do or die phase!

My property has also produced some great deer this year also, I have seen more bucks than does this year. Most of the bucks are "shooter bucks", so I guess I am in a good place as far as hunting goes, but my nerves are about shot! Good luck guys!

Nice job on that doe! I hunted all day Staurday, started out at my place. I sat till 1 o'clock and saw 0 deer! Moved to a property closer to home, shot a turkey at 15 yards, 20 minutes later I was at full draw on a huge 8 point. He was broadside 30 yards, head down slobbering and panting. I couldn't get him to stop for nothing. I couldn't hold the bow anymore, so as a last ditch effort I hit the horns! This dude flat out bolted, leads me to believe he just got his ass whipped and wanted no part of round 2. Man he was a stud too...had a ton of stickers at the bases. I think it is the same deer I saw last Tuesday.

I was startin to wander about the rest of the team....anyway I have not been out in a week. All 3 kids were sick, my wife was sick, and then I got my turn at it. I only hunted 3 days out of seven due to the flu bug, I will be able to get out probably 3 days before gun season. I gotta tell ya though our property has slowed way down. Bucks are locked down and deer movement in general has all but ceased. We went from 20 deer on last Tues., 5 deer on Wed. (1 11 pt. killed), to zero thru Saturday.
