My sons and I hunt Kentucky every year at a friends place. We would like to add one more state for our yearly man trip. A co-worker suggested your fine state. Can ya'll give me any ideas on good public hunting or affordable leases in South Ohio. The animals are not as important as the people we will meet because I plan on making these trips until I am deemed no longer "cool".

Thanks advance for the help. J

If you are familiar with hunting Ky then you'll need not to change a thing to hunt Ohio. I assume you are either hunting from across the river from Larence county (Ky's NorthEastern Border with Ohio) or down to Cincy with your other border before you get to Indiana). All you have to do is cross the river and there is plenty of public hunting within 8 miles of the river either on Shawnee Forest of Wayne National.

We hunt the Hickman/Clinton area in Southwest Kentucky. The hunt in Ohio would have to be a different trip altogether, don't tell the wife.....:shhh: Thanks for all the good advice, I'll keep ya'll informed of our progress. J

I've done some research on the places ya'll told me about. Thanks for the info.
I checked the DNR site for license requirements but the section on hunter's ed has been imppossible to find. I was born in Feb. 1971 so I'm not sure if I would be grandfathered in or not. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, J
