Trying to find somewhere to take my bow and get it tuned up and do some shooting in the Cincinnati area.
The only places i could find online were TargetWorld and a place called Afield. How are these places and is there anywhere else I might wanna check out?

Go just north around Dayton airport off of 75 to Olde English. I was in that area visiting a friend when my bow needed some maintenance. They tuned it perfectly. I usually trust anyone but myself with my hunting rig, but I was away from home and my friend recommended them. If I lived in that area they would get all my business.

Targetworld is actually fantastic. Their range sucks (one line, 15 yards)... however, Chris is very knowlegeable, does a great job and is friendly. Their pricing is fair.
They carry, Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, PSE and a few other 'non-big guys' like Pearson and Martin, i believe. Nice to have one place to shoot all of the best bows.
All that said, Cinti still needs a good shop that has multiple lanes up to 20 and a place to shoot outdoor out to 60+. HUGE gap in the market here.

Target world would never get any buisness from me. Two times I've walked through their doors with 1000.00 cash in my pocket.I was looking to buy a new bow both times. The first time was in 2006 and not one person even offered to help me so i walked out the door. The second time was this past june when i was looking for a new bow. suprise suprise no help again..so i left once more..

Stenger's Archery shop in Addyston. It's about 25 minutes from you(depending on how you go). If you come through downtown, once you get on River Road, its a straight shot. He's in an older, blue brick building on the corner. Call him to ask any questions you might have.
IMHO, I wouldn't spend a dime in Target World.

If you, or anyone for that matter, went to Target World and told Chris in the bow shop, that Ellis sent you, I guarantee you would be treated fairly, and w/ great service. Might even get a price break on some tune up service or equip, obviously I can't guarantee that one. Just had to defend the fact that he's a close personal friend of mine and would never leave a fellow bow hunter in the dark. He lives and breaths the stuff.

the guy might be a passionate bow hunter and live and breath it and all heck he probably is a good guiy i'm not saying he isnt but he and his fellow staff at target worl should learn what good customer service is because they no nothing about it in that place...oh and to back up your buddy i talked with him on the phone for a great length one time and he is a very educated bowman...

funny you should say that about Olde English. I was in there 3 years ago a month before season to get a new string put on my bow and tuned up... The guy said he could do it now, and then he put it on the shelf behind him. I didn't mind because he was setting up a new bow for a guy.. An hour later he still didn't have the guys bow finished because he was doing more laughing and bullspitting than working on the bow. 30 more min went by and he was still dicking around and hadn't touched my bow. I asked him how long so I could come back and pick it up, his response was, I'll get to it in a min... I asked for my bow back. He handed it too me while still BSing with the other guy. I asked him for my peep that I had handed him also.. He tried giving me crap about if i really gave it to him... He grumbled and searched around to find where he set it down in his messy shop... Once he found it he kind of just tossed it on the counter.... My bow and my business for life walked out of that store...
I seriously got the impression that unless you were buying a new bow there they didn't care about doing odd and end work like replacing a string...
I took my bow to jack in Sugarcreek at Sugarcreek archery and had nothing but excellent work from him.. But he sold the shop to a gunsmith and took a side job at Gander Mtns archery shop.... I would never take my bow to gander if jack wasn't there..
