Hey all,

Heading to Akron area Mon thru Wed to visit family. Plan on taking the flyrods and hitting some local lakes for bass or gills.

Any wadable river access around? Also, if anyone wants to meet up and throw some line around post or PM me. I'm up in Lansing and usually hit N MI for trout or S MI for smallies.

I have fished Mogadore, West Branch, Portage Lakes and others in the past. Will either hit one of these again or could easily be convinced to hit a river if there is one that isn't like chocolate milk.

Oh, will also be bringing the dog down. Can dogs be run on state lands now in OH? Here in MI we can run on wild birds agains since the 15th.

Thanks.

I'm probably a little late for you on the answer for this one but we were camping in PA for the weekend. You may want to try the Cuyahoga up around Streetborough for some smallmouth. You have found the easiest lakes to fish already.

As for running a dog. You can run only run it in a dog training area. The closest one to Akron is Berlin Wildlife area. Take 224 east to rt 225 and head south about two miles. There is a sign for the wildlife area. Turn left there and it's right down that road.

Lance,

Thanks for the reply. I'm figuring the river will probably be a wash though with all this rain. Might get out to see if there's a lake that isn't muddied up. Will definately have to try the Cuy sometime, heard about the smallies (and pike) from some others.

Yep, been out to Berlin before. Might get out that way to see if I can scare up any training leftovers.
