How many first downs or touchdowns are those preseason rankings worth? LOL.

Zero. Nil. None.
Coach Tressel stated as much. I'm sure the other coaches are making similar statements. Too many things can happen; injuries, academics and off field stuff can be equalizers... that's why they play the games :D

I'll admit, I'd be harassing you guys if the roles were reversed:) . Those rankingas are about right. If UM plays well this year they could finish 3rd. Otherwise, I see them as the 4th-5th best team in the conference.

I agree..means absolutley zero......look at UM last year...chit...if we lose to..... lets say........Troy or Youngstown......oh my!!!!
But it does give us something to post and talk about in regards to THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES......and how awfully good they are for now!!!
BUT.............Ohio State left Chicago's Big Ten media kickoff with a target firmly stenciled on its back thanks to sweeping the league's preseason awards. The Buckeyes had varying reactions to the plaudits, BUT that new Bid Red Bullseye is firmly planted on their back.......EVERY team will come out to play them for the upset......they will need to be ready and willing to accept that challenge if they will have a good year....every team...... Troy, OU, Youngstown, and UM USC.........Will bring everything they have!!!!

Wisconsin makes me nervous - if they can find good QB play they will be very tough. Lots of experience coming back, best stable of RBs in the conference, bruising lines.
I'm not on the Illinois band wagon like everybody else - we will see how they do without a quality TB.
PSU/MSU could potentially surprise this year, but I doubt either gets it together enough to challenge.
If the UM defense plays their best, there is no reason UM could not finish as high as third. I would expect some problems while on offense, but you win games with defense and they SHOULD have a pretty good one.
I can't wait!

i think indiana will gives some teams fits because of their qb.

jeffmo - IU's QB is mobile, but that team is going to be terrible this year. They have more holes than a fly swatter - don't expect a bowl game for them again unless they pull off some huge upsets.

Indiana will be better..the question is how much!!!:D
I have a personal interest in seeing Brian Hoyer lead Michigan State this year...he is the son of a good friend of ours, and my wife and his mom work together in the same newborn intensive care unit.
Nice arm, and has the smarts....when he attended Ignatius, he was a good dual player athlete at Baseball and Football.
