I hope all of you Buckeye/Bengals fans are proud of Carson Palmers comments on the Buckeyes,he pretty much said he hates the whole stae of Ohio.I hope they lose every game they play, and he blows his other knee out!If i were a Bengals fan I would be embarressed and ashamed.

He's a USC alum, I am not surprised. Just because Chris Perry plays in Ohio do you think he would love OSU now even though he played at Michigan?

Apparently nobody has a right to an opinion, unless it is in agreement with yours. it is a free world buddy. Pretty low blow on the knee comment. I am a diehard Michigan fan but i don't wish career threatening injury on Prior.

Oh..Palmer has his opinion, nothing wrong with that...it isn't worth anything since he is from California and only Positive Ohio opinions in the Ohio forum will be the only ones considered valid here.
All other comments and opinions from ousiders are just that...worthless, not factual, frivolous, no merit, and I can go on and on and on.............

It just irks me. When I would hop on a plane back to Dayton there would be a minimum of six people wearing some OSU paraphernalia... I got to thinking about it.... 70 people on the plane.. lets say 50% or 35 people are Ohio residents.. That’s a 17% wear rate between Ohio individuals.... Now if you take that 17% wear rate by the entire year, that means Ohio residents wear some buckeye clothing 62 days a year....
62 freggin days a year :yikes: come on!! :nono: I swear before long it'll be to official seal on Ohio birth certificates..

You know I have 2 lucky t-shirts I wear under my hunting clothes. One is a green Ohio Buckeye Big Buck Club shirt...the other is this one:

I have OSU Buckeye clothing, most of it comes from the Buckeye Cafe in Columbus (you can tell the difference between authentic clothes and Walmart stuff). If you've never been there, check it out...it's down on Olentangy just off campus. We used to go to games and wear scarlet and gray...of course... but I usually just wear it on game days now since I haven't been to a game in quite a few years. Although I got a nice polo/golf shirt from there that I wore alot. Bowled my 300 game wearing that shirt. I've always and will always be a Buckeye fan and wear the colors proudly whenever, wherever :D
I spend the week of the annual OSU / Mich game up at the hunting cabin in northern Michigan (rifle season). Not many Buckeye fans up there...
I wear my OSU colors as I watch the game with all the Mich fans :cheeky-smiley-022: Been a winner for the past how many games now :gaga:

We looked at each other and smiled....we made a Bee Line for the Truck:yikes: took our Camo off, switched into our OSU Shirts and hats and made it to the Salt Fork Lodge Bar in time to watch the OSU win!!!!:biggrin:

As much as Michigan fans will want us all to forget about that game, they will never, EVER live that down. Losing to powerhouse SEC teams in title games is one thing...losing at home to a 1-AA team when you are ranked in the top 5, a team you pay to come to your house and lose, is a different and historically embarassing sporting event. :D

As hard as it was to watch that day, it really was the beginning of change in A2. Not really glad it happened, but, most UM fans had been wanting Carr out for some time. The main reasons were the old "Country Club" atmosphere when it came to preparation and conditioning. It's just sad that something that ugly had to happen for change to take place. FWIW, Appy St. coulda beat atleast half the Big 10 last year. Most of the experts will admit that USC losing at home to Stanford was a bigger upset. Me, not so much.:nono:

USC to Stanford is no where close to the biggest upset loss that ever happened...the only "Ranked" Divison 1 Team ever losing to a Divison 11A Team (Michigan and Appalachian State will always hold that title)....I don't care who you are...even Carr's mother will admit that!!!!

Very true, in the title year OSU had a lot of nail-biters against some not-great teams. That being said, they still won those games! Had UM made that last-seconf FG against App St. all we would hear was "it was a close call." But they didn't...
As for your Nittany Lions, isn't it time Joe Pa says enough is enough? As others have said, PSU should be a powerhouse every year. Sometimes I think Bowden and Paterno are just waiting for the other to retire (or die on the sideline) and they both need to walk away.
Deehntr56
07-23-2008, 12:40 PM
Paterno though is an institution...he has done so much for that school, and given so much of himself, it is really hard for him to walk away.
I have seen interviews with him, and he is so engrossed with the school, football and the life there, I do believe the only reason he is alive today is because he is doing what he loves.
Hats off to a great man and coach. He will coach and support that school he holds so dear to his heart until he can't walk to the field on his own......we need more peole today, like him, that do what is they love to do instead of chasing that almighty dollar and ego of theirs!!!!

Cream, I couldn't agree more with you. In fact i think the entire coachign staff needs to be overhauled.
Deerhntr45, Joe Pa has become nothing more then a sideline sideshow. At this point he is more of a distration then anything. I feel bad for the playeres there, who are they suppoded to listen to?? Whos the real coach of the team?
I also disagree about Paterno being there for the love of the game, I feel at this point it is about his ego, you even said it its between him and Bowden, its not about the players anymore or the team its about their own win/loss records.
Redhunter1012

Dee, I agree on the whole Appy St. loss being the biggest. I Understand what they are saying though, that the talent disparity was alot further between USC and Stanford. Appy state coulda whipped Stanford and alot of other D-1 teams last year.

I didn't say anything about him and Bowden...I think you are quoting someone else on that. You may want to go look back and see who did.
I totally disagree that he is a sideshow......trust me, if he had no validity with players...they wouldn't go there and put their shot of a possible NFL career on the line. They would just go to another school. they did choose to attend, and can transfer at any time.
He has won for so long for a reason...he may of had better days, but he can still coach. And his ego is the least of his worries at this age...he already has earned about every possible honor at a boy he could, he knows that. his only worries right now, is how long he can stay healthy to continue doing what he loves.
To stay in it now, to continually contribute monitarily and his own personal time every year to the school and programs out of the football arena and the surrounding economic area of the school, is strictly being done because of his love of what he is doing.
I can name you several other coaches that only do it for ego and money....

I totally agree. Probably in the long run it was better for UM football. If it hadn't happened, Carr woulda retired and had one of his cronies be annointed head coach, thus continuing the inbreeding atmosphere of the UM coaching circle. Atleast this is what I tell myself to help me sleep at night:D

OSU was in a rebuilding mode...until Boeckman and other new comers really stepped up and took the season to where it finished.
Fun to watch.
