With August fast approaching, what is everyone planning to plant in the way of foodplots this fall? Anyone cutting back due to high cost of everything?

I will get my fall plot in the last weekend of August. Work on the plots Saturday and Sunday, then bust some doves on Monday.
My fall plot will be Biologic GPP (oats, winter wheat, brassicas and clovers).

i still have around 9 acres still to do for fall. Spread out in 3 different locations. Alot of it is half the field in clover mix, the other half in a brassica mix. Might throw some AWP in for fun!!

i ve done them before. The problem is that they are kinda hard to find around here locally. If you order online you end up paying the cost of the seed for shipping. If anyone has any places near canton or cadiz that sell AWP let me know!!!

Milo planted some this past weekend and got me some from BWI.

We put 100 pounds in the ground this weekend. Just rained on them too. Should be a good turn out. Will try to follow up with pics when I get to see them again.

i would buy them from BWI but im like 2 hours 20 minutes away from athensWell, all I can say is it is worth the drive. the seed comes in clear plastic bags and you can see the seed size and quality. You'll spend more money for the same quality at other big retail stores. I drove 2 hours to get my stuff.
Do you guys use weedkill on your plots in the fall, before you turn the ground over to plant? Just wondered since it is going into the fall, and would be less competition growing?
Yes, I sprayed for about 3 weeks just to kill it all down.

Just finished up our fall plots yesterday. We planted
-Evolved Wildlifes Mega Plot
-Wheat
-Oats
-Beans(most people dont usually plant them this late, but i have found that the deer love them young and tender this time of year)
I sprayed 3 times, as well. My peas are just now starting to come up. It's looking like it's going to be a great crop.

I plant corn in the spring, and buck forage oats in the fall. My oat plots are surrounded by the corn fields and all is left for the deer. The deer love the security of the corn surrounding the open plots, and will hit them throughout the day. I beleive that I have about $2000.00 or more in my food plots this year, but the results have been phenomenal. I will try to post some pics of my locations and setups this afternoon. I believe that we are starting to get it figured out. I have tried just about everything on the market over the past 5 years, and the forage oats/ corn combo seem to be the absolute best for "hunting" plots. The deer just pound those forage oats during early archery, and pound both through late season. They actually will dig up the oats when the snow is on the ground.
