What do you guys use for ragweed in a new seeding
clover and chickory plot.:irked:

The only thing you could try is butyrac. A lot of mowing will knock it back also - that is what i have been doing

i take it clover and/or chicory is resistent to butyrac??? ive never heard of this pesticide. is butyrac the chemical name or the brand name? thanks.

kills broadleaf plants - so it will probably trash chicory - but people have been having good luck with it in clover.

When do you plan to plant this plot? If your timing is good (right before a rain is perfect), and you have decent soil, the clover should germinate quickly, and shade out most other plants for a while, and keeping it mowed to 6" allows the clover to thrive and will definately keep the ragweed to a minimum. Do you plan to have this plot in for a few years, or is this an annual plot? Lots of lime for clover also, will make it thrive.
