Hey folks,

I'm relatively new to Ohio hunting, recently moved from IN. I haven't seen anything anything in the rules and regulations, but I think I remember seeing it somewhere. Is it illegal to hunt along side rail road tracks in Ohio? I realize of course you must have written permission from the land owner.

In IN, I enjoyed hunting the tracks, but was curious about OH laws. Thanks.

I have heard that it is illegal and I have heard that is is legal. your best bet would be to find out what RR company owns it and give em a call.

just my 2 cents

my back yard is rr tracks , i live along them and the farmer owns the land that butts up to them. i get permission from the landowner to hunt his property and like this set of rr tracks and i think most others you cant get permision from them due to others trying to sue them or fights over the place they told me they just quit giving hunting permision.(there isnt even tracks there anymore just stone but the rr company still owns the land) now my gamewarden loves to bust people on them too. i think he can make the state his salary on fines some years. so when i want that rabbit or two i hunt along side and make double sure that rabbit sets foot on the landowner's side..lol one thing i havent figured out is if i had a dog and ran him up there on the tracks would he get a fine for tresspassing ???..lol
