This was the day I had one fish bend my rod down & bend a Driftmaster rod holder. Lost it after a hard tug of war game under the boat. Then I had another one rip drag, I engaged the spool & it barely slowed him down. After over a 1/2 hour, it pulled the hook loose. It was a good 150 yards downstream, never gained any on it. It was probably in the class with the 62# fish. I had my buddy take my picture after fighting about 20-30 minutes, just because I knew that was as close as I would ever get to it. We should've pulled anchor & chased it, hindsight is 20/20:(

we caugth quite a few fish that day too. Some nice blues, flatheads. Then i got a real nice flathead. It weighed 31# 4 oz !!

Everytime my wife sees me looking at these pictures she tells me to pick up my jaw, and wipe the saliva off my chin. You'd think it was nudie picks or something.

Really guys, nice pics and I won't lie I am jealous but some day when I get all my ducks in a row, so to speak, I am gonna start doin the research and target these bad boys.

Here's a nice 20# flathead Chris got about a 1/2 hour befroe I got that 31# 8 oz fish. Pretty exciting night ! One fish is nice, but both a 20 & 30# class in better.

Man compared to you guys in Ohio, I am just a rookie. You guys catch some of the biggest catfish I have ever seen.

This is a picture of the biggest catfish I have ever caught. I know it isn't up to your standards, but I caught it ice fishing on 2 lb test. He spooled me 4 times and it took me almost 1/2 hour to land him. Perch in the picture is 10" and it weighed 21 1/2 lbs on my bathroom scale.

I learned from some of the best. Studied & applied what I learned, was prepared. Did the right things at the right time, that's all. I fished with alot of different people this year. It's a testament to their skills and willingness to show me, along with a few tricks I learned on my own.;)

I'm sure my knowlege will grow exponetially when we do finally fish for cats. We have fished for SAUGEYES already !! That was too funny. "I'm never going back" Famous quote.:D I think I went back to Paint Creek a few more times, but not once this season. I have a friend who does, he took my son. They caught alot of channels on jigs also on minnows & bobbers. I know you got some snow channels last year too.
