This Sunday, my girlfriend and I are taking some kids, along with a parent or two, out on a boat on Alum Creek Lake. This is my first year fishing the lake and Ive only been fishing from the shores. I havent caught much, just a few small bluegill and cats. Any tips for putting the youngins on some fish. Lately it seems like not even bluegill are biting on shore for me. What is hitting good this time of year on the lake? Thanks alot for all your help.

I have not fished that lake but maybe find a spot that might hold some good bass or maybe a swim. How young? good luck

I fished Alum Sunday and we found all of our fish on points in about 10-12' of water. Caught crappies, bass, gills and eyes. Also had 2 muskies hooked. One of them straightened the hook. We were throwing jigs tipped with minnows and jigs tipped with about a third of a worm. The boat swim area is in Big Run now. I don't think they are letting people swim North of 36 this year.

thanks for the info. the kids are ranging from 5-9. Im not sure if the kids would want to swim or not (Im sure the parents arent looking to get wet, lol). I'll try some points throughout the lake, would we fair better North or South of 36?

One suggestion, safety first with the kids... lifejackets on at all times!

We didnt fish North of 36. Mostly we fished west bank between Big Run and Cheshire Road.
