Railroad Rabbits

How many of you out there hunt tracks for rabbits and have you ever had any problems with the law doing it. We used to hunt these tracks over by Stryker all the time until there was a train accident there and some toxic liquid was spilled. Rough walking but well worth it. We would easily get about 8 rabbits in that small section.

I used to wabbit hunt the old rail road tracks in Johnstown. I didn't see many rabbits because I didn't have a dog. Now, on the other side of the tracks was Lester Price's property. He used to let me hunt and fish there. We used to kill a couple dozen wabbit's a year on his place.

theres no better rabbit hunting then the tracks. i hunt lorain county and recently i have seen game wardens hassling hunters on the tracks. i try to find a farm that butts up agenst the tracks to avoid problems from the MAN.;)

Yep, had a run-in with one couple years back during gun season. Was hiding behind my truck on my families property. Man was I pissed. Just doing their jobs though. Cant be made at them about that.

There's a difference in doing your "job" and being a butt head.

I've had one face to face encounter with a game warden. I was 16 and we where at buckeye lake duck hunting. My Dad, my brother and I didn't have our shot gun's pluged. The only person they fined was my dad. That is the ONLY time I've ever heard of them being even "half way" leaniant (sp?) on someone. My father paid the $80 some dollar fine and we plugged our shot guns.

Since then I've never ran into a game warden. I kinda wonder sometimes if the people that get "hammered" buy them are giving the warden a hard time. If I was a warden and someone was a smart arse to me I'd hammer them too.

Then again, the ODNR has a bad reputation with fining the hell outta the lil guy. At least that's what I hear.

i dont know bout gamewardens but you better be ware of pinkertons.talk bout ruthless an mean.they got me an my buddy ,sit us in back seat of car.interrogated us,my buddy got smart with them an got backhanded a couple times.this was back bout 1964 when cops didnt mess around

the railroad cops...we thought they were mafia then they showed us their badges an told us what they were about an what they were lookin for...we seen their snubnose guns undr their coats,real scary an it was dark thirty
