Started this head yesterday evening, I finished this morning, It took about 2 hours total, you have to be carefull with the long wide ones, they can break in a heart beat with the wrong amount of pressure aplied the wrong way,

Nice work Steve.....Had the opportunity to learn knapping from a guy I worked with couple years back in WV. But, I kept putting it off as usual and the man was taken quickly by cancer! He did give me one head that my son used to take a nice doe with the year that Tom passed. Sadly, I never got to show him the pictures of that deer:( Old Ben was right.....never put off until tommorrow what you can do today!!......TF

I am just learning, I started about 3 years ago and I did it for a few weeks then stopped for the next 3 years, started trying again and have been at it for about 3 weeks now, its fairly easy to do but you have to have some one to show you how to do it, tools are simple and cheap. I was at a stand still, My buddy came over and flaked a head in about 15 minutes, I watched and saw what I was doing wrong, My heads are just so so, after yesterday watching him I saw I was going to deep and not doing a certain thing but doing it wrong for a few weeks I was able to understand what he was doing so mine should improve a lot over the next weeks.

George that Michigan Mutt probably eats Ohioians as appetizers. I'm thinking maybe it was crossbred w/a wolverine. We have all heard how savage they are. Unless they're wearing a football jersey & then they become pretty worthless. :D :D :D
