View Full Version : made some flint arrow heads last few morn PIC

Made these for a friend, the black ones are obsidian and the colored ones are flint and one made out of glass, the bigest one is the black one at 1 /12 X 2 inchs, made them the last few morning when I was bored

Did you make them suckers "by hand" or use a machine?

If they are made "by hand" in the "traditional sense", then your pretty good at it.

Nice looking pieces. Find ya some white flint...that in my mind is the "purdiest" (light brown/tan flint that you can just about se through is also "purdy").

Yes I make them by hand, I am posting the tools I use, I have been doing it about 40 to 60 hours total, made some 3 years ago and just got back into the last few weeks

started a knife today, 2 1/4 inchs by six, hopefully have it done tomorrow morning, I set on the porch at daylight and knapp while my little dog sniffs around for rabbits

very good steve...you ever been to the flint ridge(ohio) knap in.really neat ,man by the name of rocky miller is always there

That does look like a really cool trade. I don't think I would have the patience for it. I never was much of a craftsmen?

I am not a craftsman either but it does take a lot of patience especially aound the nocks and forming the point

Steve nice points . I use mine to hunt with. I'd like to buy one of your to hunt with if I can . I like using other Knappers points to take a deer! Let me know ?, Jeff

They are very awsome. Neat colors, Can you realy hunt with the glass one or will it brake. Made by hand that is realy cool.:cool:
