Grabbed the card out of my trail cam today while hunting. Got a picture of a gobbler with a bearded hen by his side. Thought it was pretty cool seeing them together. Bearded hens are fairly common on my farm.

Think so? I thought it looked too brown, like the bird next to it. Does have a faint touch of pink on the head. I don't know. I still think it's a hen. Maybe not. The one in the very back kind of looks like a jake to me.

Very Very hard to say....I even blew the pics up and couldn't tell if they had spurs or not. It's an awesome pic, however, the pic really isnt colorful enough to tell if the other two have small beards or not....the thing is, you know there's a boss gobbler there, and compare his head to the one that has a beard and there extremely similar in color. If I had to guess, I'd say boss gobbler in strut showing his dominance over 3 immature birds....but, bearded hens really arent that unheard of....so, that's a definite possibility....also, their heads are small like hens....this may be the mona lisa of trail cam pics....

Well, the gender of the bird in the first picture might be a little bit of a mystery, but I do have another picture of a flock of hens and one with a beard.

On another note, my DH shot a bearded hen a few years back. The taxidermist mounted her looking over a clutch of eggs that are just starting to hatch with a couple of little tiny beaks coming through a few egg shells. Kind of a cool mount.
