As I said on another thread, I'm a bad fly tier. I still enjoy it, though. It really is a cool feeling to catch a fish on something you made with your own hands.

This is the one pattern even I hardly can screw up:

I lost one fish and broke off on another on that egg pattern in WV last weekend.

This is something I threw together to be a SE Ohio smallie and rock bass catcher:

This was an attempt to make something a crappie would find attractive. A friend who is a good tier said it was "freaking hideous:" :)

And this is the easiest pattern I have ever seen, WV's infamous green weenie:

The weenie saved my day last Sunday in WV. Overnight rain clouded the water and raised it several inches, but I caught several fallfish on the weenie:

Wow! I'm going to have to try the green weenie sometime! I really like that smallie/rock bass pattern too!

It's really great to see more flies showing up! I like that green bass fly with the red dumbell eye's. It looks lethal.

I don't know that I'd say your your crappie fly is hideous, maybe a bit ugly..... :mischeif: but I bet it works just fine. Sometimes pretty flies catch as many fisherman as they do fish, or more! lol

Fish don't know the difference between Prada or Wranglers. If they are hungry and the colors are right they'll eat it. Don't get discouraged by your Uber fly tying friend. Just think.. How many times have you put a squished cricket on a hook.. Did it look like a cricket? Nope.. Did it catch fish? you bet.

Look good to me (http://hubpages.com/hub/Fur-Prices-are-up). I even have some veteran time in fly country Northwest U.S. and if it catches fish...why not is my claim to fame. I tied so much I ended up selling my extras on Ebay. I was a much better tier then fisherman it seems.

Well here are a few more. I might be going to WV to hit a few streams on Saturday, so I tied up about 20 more flies I might need down there. I was told the "Crystal Meth" pattern is great for steelhead, I saw it and knew it would be great for stocked WV trout, too. I tied a few different colors in that pattern and of course, more eggs.
