Here's a couple pictures I took when I was tying earlier this evening. Now, keep in mind that I haven't tied in a few years and I had very, VERY limited supplies. (Sorry the pictures aren't that clear. I tried to get closer but my camera didn't want to focus for some reason.)

I call this fly the Bluegill Buster....I always used to tie something like it and it was really simple and it worked great. I'm going to tie some more eventually. It would have been a little neater, but I forgot how to use my whip finisher. Then, I was using some clear nail polish for the head, but I was using a blue toothpick and it ate the dye off of the toothpick. So, this fly has a blue head. Lesson learned....haha

I call this the Panfish Pounder. It's alot neater than the first one. The picture is a little fuzzy, but you get the idea. Both of these wet flies work great and they are simple to tie. If you would like the patterns let me know and I will update this.

I'm going to tie some more later and add on to this thread. I'm sure they will get better when I get back in the groove again too.

Cool, I'd like to see the patterns for sure! I'm going to be getting my daughter into a lot of gills on the fly rod this year.

As for the clarity of the pictures, if your camera has a macro mode on it, it should clear up the fuziness issue(usually looks like a flower/tulip on the menu). The only problem you may run into then is that you will probably need to put your camera on a tripod if you have one.

I second the pattern request!

I am a very poor fly-tier (and I admit it), but I still enjoy it.

The Bluegill Buster/Bonanza-

Hook: 8-12 wet fly hook...Any brand will do nicely.
Thread: Black 6/0 Uni-Stretch thread
Body: Two strands of peacock herl
Hackle: Rusty brown rooster feather

1. When you have your hook in the vice, wrap the thread from the eye of the hook to the bend.
2. Once at the bend, tie in your two strands of peacock herl.
3. Twist the two strands of peacock together and wrap back towards the eye of the hook.
4. Leave enough room behind the eye for your hackle. Tie off the herl, and trim excess
5. Tie in your hackle and trim off excess.
6. Whip finish and cement the head. Use fly head cement or clear fingernail polish. (You need to cement the head because these things take a beating! )

The Panfish Pounder

Hook: 8-12 wet fly hook
Thread: 6/0 black uni-stretch
Tail: Black rooster feather
Body: Black Chenille
Hackle: Rusty Brown rooster feather

1. After you place your hook in the vice, wrap your thread down the bend of the hook. Trim excess thread.
2. Take the tip of your black rooster feather and tie in your tail. Trim excess.
3. Tie in your black chenille.
4. Tie in your hackle.
5. Wrap your chenille towards the eye of the hook. Trim off excess.
6. Wrap your hackle around the chenille towards the eye. Trim off excess.
7. Whip finish and cement head.

There you go!
