I went for a while this evening and got skunked. Nothing. Not even a nibble. Is there anything biting this time of year that likes flies? Like gills or crappie?

Yep, you should be able to get into gills in the ponds/lakes but your going to need use weighted flies(unless your lucky enogh to have a good spring fed pond with moderate temps). Small bead head flies fished deep and slow should get you some hook ups. Just twitch them along with a slow retrieve. It may be a little slow in the ponds early but it will work. ;)

Crappie are going crazy at Spencer Lake. Caught 10 keepers Sunday night 9-12". Threw back several small ones. Also got 8 nice sized bluegill and a 18 1/2" Largemouth.

Thanks for the info guys! I might go tomorrow afternoon. I went through my gear today and I found some small beadhead nymphs and small weighted wooly buggers that I'm going to give a try. I'll let you know how I do!

Crappies are startin to become very active at Mosquito. 41 keepers on the 3rd, 8 on the 2nd. Walleye's are startin to roll and the bass are even startin to hit. I have been pond fishing the past two weekends for bass and we have been killin them.
