I don't know about the rest of you, but I am itching to pick up my fly rod! I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice. I have caught many things on my fly rod....except a crappie at Oxbow Lake. I'm making it a goal of mine to catch some. I might head out there later sometime. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some flies that they like. I have thrown many things at them and I know they are in there. I'm just not sure where. Any help?

If you ever get the chance, go for some smallies or white bass! they'll give you a good fight on a 6 weight!

At the end of the year I started using small green terrestrials for wooded areas and chartruese clousers to prevent snags. I had some luck but I have some new techniques I've read over the winter that I want to try. After reading that Crappie don't look down for food, fly depth got important and I saw more results. Getting the casts where you want them is the key. I love lakes and sometimes positioning is akward. I also found I needed to keep the flies moving to get strikes. I'm sure things will progress for me this year with my winter rsearch so get some ponters, work them and see how they work. Good Luck...Where is OxBow Lake>
