Whether I'm hunting or researching game animals - I spend an average of 4-7 hours per day - 4-7 days per week - about 5 months per year in the woods.

I don't mean to tell you guys I spend too much time in the woods, but in Novemeber, when I've been researching or hunting deer for a month or more, I get home, take a look at my wife, and I start rubbing my forehead on the door post, and urinating under the chandelier.

Then, because I hunt and research elk, in September I start urinating all over myself, rolling in the mud, and screaming at the top of my lungs.

Since I hunt and research turkeys, I start walking around with my butt in the air and gobbling in April.

My wife doesn't want me to take up fishing, 'cause she is afraid I'll want to spawn all summer long.

God bless and good hunting,

T.R. Michels

I think you are right on track Brother, I see no problems at all. However, when looking at your wife, instead of rubbing your head on the door post, you should rub it on the bed post.:shhh::shhh:

In the 2006 season, I actually spent 161 1/4 hours in the treestand, not including the time driving too and from, scouting, etc. I'm almost ashamed to tell anyone that except other hunters. Over four full work weeks in the stand, sheezzzz. And I loved every minute of it.:coco:

right on brother. wives try to understand, some will most won't just don't miss those special times when the kids are doing there sports things or any other special event. i think the coordinators for those events must plan them especially to mess up the morning or evening hunts.

Is there such as thing as to much time in the woods? I mean as long as you get to the events that have meaning and make sure your honey do's get done in a somewhat timely manner then hey who can complain, hahaha....

In July, I tell my wife to make a list of the things she wants done around the house. Things like tile the bathroom, moving this or that, putting up a new mailbox.. Because come the end of Sept if it's not something that’s left on the list, it not interfering with hunting..

She doesn't hunt.. I'm fine with that.. There was a commercial on VS yesterday that sums it up for me..

A woman will say 21 million words before your new Evenrude e-tech will need service, a man will say 7 million."

Mine understands. When we were married in 1985 her wedding gift to me was a gun cabinet. I got her a sewing machine...
To much time in the woods? No way!

My wife and daughter are hooked on wildlidfe research and photography - and they don't mind me hunting - 'cause it means I'm out of their hair :irked: :coco: :dizzy:

God bless,

I read your post "What is a deer stand?" to my wife last week. Now over the past couple of years it hasn't been to bad because I have started to take the boy with me and that gets one of the kids out of her hair. She said that every guy should read their wife that post and maybe they will have a little better understanding and appreciation for what we call hunting.
